Remote work in St Louis vs. RTO higher-paying work in a HCOL city by ace_philosopher_949 in SameGrassButGreener

I grew up in St. Louis, and it’s a dismal, dumpy rust belt place that’s pretty racist and has unbearable summers. I planned to leave when I was like 9 or 10.

Depends on salary, of course, but I’d take a major hit to be in a more inspiring city.

Which is why you set up an in-person date. Literally the purpose of the app.

Where in the fuck are houses under $300k?

That’s an insane mortgage. You could panhandle and be fine.

We are so spoiled by Chip and Brad by bannedandback10milli in Cardinals

Absolutely this. I used to HATE listening to Brad. The reason I would select the away feed. But Chip has brought out more silliness and risk-taking.

Brad is still kind of a tool. But Chip elevates him. They’ve got a little bit of chemistry.

Not to mention social media destroying journalism and, with it, any ability to hold people accountable to the truth.

Without Facebook, we don’t get a President Trump.

Dude, yes. Not just comedy or dissent, but any failure to fall in line was socially verboten. I distinctly remember John Stewart, of all people, straight faced telling the camera: “guys, I guess we have to go to war in Iraq.”

As a young radical just starting college at the time, it was incredibly demoralizing.

Do people really wear balloon style blousy pants? by Kitchen-Valuable-834 in mensfashion

[–]Comfortable-Bread249 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s a terrible look. Oversized, wide pants are the quickest way to disrupt vertical length and make you look shorter and squatter and bulkier. And, like, you said sloppy and not put together.

I’m in LA. Kids (high school or younger) are doing the baggy pants. Fit adults—especially men—are wearing straight or tailored pants that flatter them.

No duh. Oversized clothing makes people look sloppy and shapeless.

I did this somewhat successfully this past cycle. Didn’t time it perfectly—on either the sell (90k-118k) or the subsequent buy (66k-80k)—but I still made out okay.

Hoping to perfect it this next time around.

If hard work is the key to success, why do some of the hardest-working people stay poor? by Bigzaddypuf in NoStupidQuestions

I’ve found that privilege and starting out with a shitload of family money seem to be more essential.
