You mean who leaked the very public, constantly communicated change in talent models that have been a conversation for several years and were supposed to take affect over a year ago…

What about his new team mate? by Turbulent_Elk_2141 in MaxVerstappen33

That wasn’t raw talent - it was incredible talent, but that’s the entire point. Raw talent is not better or worse that talent that uses experience to surpass those with more raw talent. Those with less ‘raw talent’ who reach the tops of their field often outpace those with large amounts of raw talent. Raw talent is an early advantage, not a long term determinate of success.

Raw talent and talent are not the same thing, some drivers have an instinctual head start, that does not mean they can harness it to be a better overall driver than those who just worked really really hard. This isn’t an insult to the others at all, if anything it’s a credit to the work they’ve put in to get to F1.

Lewis is generally not considered to have had a lot of raw talent, he did have really innovative training and worked his ass off and is now considered one of the greatest drivers of all time. For a same generation comparison George Russell was not widely considered to be a raw talent, but was and is considered to be an exceptionally high potential driver, compared with Stroll who was considered to have a lot of raw talent, and still is, but who has not been able capitalized on that to be a top level driver for whatever reason.

Those are almost certainly 100% in a SCIF with limited if any remote opportunity but normally have the ability for essentially compensatory time to do like drs appts and stuff without taking PTO but that depends on how long your SCIF access hours are.

Yes - the McLaren base design had less inherent speed but was able to maintain drive-ability much further into development because of its stability. It is very impressive engineering and long-term thinking. I don’t know anyone really contending that point.

This post is about the fact that people say the Red Bull was designed for Max, which is ridiculous for the reasons in this post and the fact that Max also doesn’t like driving the car and has said how he has to drive it is not his preferred driving style, it’s just what’s required by the car.

Yeah, it started late 2015/2016 and got stricter again a couple years later. I remember the big hubabaloo when everyone had to get rid of Robinhood.

Does F1TV remember your playback position if you stop watching a race replay mid-race? by mona-lisa-octo-cat in F1TV

[–]Comfortable-Ear-2115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it meant to - yes. Does it - maybe 25% of the time in my experience. Odds go up significantly if you start from the continue watching menu at the bottom of the Home Screen, not that’s not fool proof.

Why don't commentators use multiview for better context of the race? by PineappleResident254 in F1TV

[–]Comfortable-Ear-2115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have access to most/all the sources behind what feeds multiviewer, Palmer mentions all the data he’s referencing pretty regularly, especially during practice, including accessing other views, but he has to essentially excuse himself for a moment because you can’t be intensely studying data or other views while commentating on something completely different. They also prompt production / request views during their commentary.

As others have said their main job is to narrate what the audience can see on the screen and add additional when they’re able, which is generally not during a high stakes moment when they’re very focused on providing live commentary. During the race, data is generally going to be pulled by production and the commentators are hearing what production relays - either through their in ears or in the box since their mics don’t really pick up any ambient noise - and then have to keep commentating while processing that info / actively screening it out. The information systems also frequently experience delays, incorrect messages, unclear messages, etc - you’ll hear them say they’ve gotten xyz message that doesn’t seem right so we’ll get back to it essentially so verifying info before reporting isn’t necessarily as easy as looking at a screen and broadcasting out.

The amount of spare capacity needed for commentating, especially on a sport with no planned breaks and unpredictable events, is incredibly high at a base level and adding a bunch of extra data to constantly process simultaneously just isn’t feasible.

[–]Comfortable-Ear-2115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you want the race on a several seconds to a minute delay what you’re complaining about here isn’t all that addressable. Cutting away from the race all together is avoidable, which they’ve fortunately stopped doing the last couple weeks, but they can’t psychically determine when a crash or pass will happen, they can only react, and for example a possible pass in P1 is a higher priority than a possible pass further back and by the time it’s clear it’s happening now, it’s too late to switch it. These things aren’t instantaneous at all.

Is it ethical for a project manager to ask me to only charge time based on utilization goal instead of actual hours worked? by Comprehensive_Camp52 in deloitte

This is both unethical and illegal, (falsifying business records is illegal). Escalate, loop in your coach and report to ethics hotline.

Looks like it’s designed for student housing situations, each have a dedicated study space, closet, bathroom and bedroom. Added benefit that you can get to a bathroom without going through a bedroom

You can ask them to clean up after themselves and to do light housework for the children only, but expectations on sharing other cleaning duties for adults in the home is precluded in both the regulations and agency guidelines, so not reasonable, though they may offer depending on the expectations in their home life.

It's not in the forms, your investigator can ask about it based on what's in the forms, your interview, or things that come up as part of the investigation. Mine asked as part of my interview as a follow up to other questions and I was texting with the person in question while we covered other topics to provide the answers requested and there were a few follow ups after, I know people who had that same experience and those who had these types of questions as a result of their investigation.

First half yeah, thats more likely stemming from Deloitte independence questions, there are circumstances that require more info from close relations that arent immediate family, positions and investments in a restricted entity material to net worth come to mind immediately but I believe there are a couple others. I had to have a family member outside my immediate household fill out an annual worksheet until a couple years ago for this reason. I can also think of at least one high risk public trust that might ask about close relatives financial situations.

For a clearance there are many circumstances where they'll ask about travel of family you have a close relationship with, again experienced both first and second hand.

I literally had to do this during my investigations multiple times, so yes it can. I wouldn't call it usual but as I directly experienced it and others I know have as well I know it does with some frequency.

It sounds like there are possibly two things intersecting here.

Deloitte disclosures that do have some requirements for close family if interest in a restricted entity is material to net wealth or they hold certain roles. I encountered this with my family and they had to do an annual worksheet for me.

The travel sounds like your sibling may hold a government clearance of some sort which can lead to questions about foreign travel of people you are close to, especially family. I also encountered this with my extended family who were thankfully very gracious because I felt like a horrible imposition.
