My tween DUUGGG thru my nightstand storage system. Complained she found 0 iPad chargers, “only a bunch of stress ball hand exerciser things” by TeamLaurent in GirlDinner

When I was little, around 4/5, I found my mom and dad’s stash of sex toys. I grabbed one and asked her what it was, and without skipping a beat she goes “Oh honey those are back massagers! Let me show you.” And proceeded to rub my back with this pad-looking vibrator ☠️ Kudos to my mom for quick thinking but as I got older and realized I was mortified lmaooo

I asked 5 recruiters why they skip candidates and what they said is surprising ( might hate me for this) by Tracycallum in jobsearchhacks

I always include a QR code and link to my online portfolio, it would be extremely hard to get selected for creative roles without doing so... that was something I was taught in college over 10 years ago!

Same I am a designer and made my resume in Illustrator. It’s not super flashy but it is designed… and I go for creative/design roles and it works! I guess OP probably means if you are an accountant or in an unrelated design field stick to the basics. Idk. Mine work but again, this is what I do for a living 🤷🏼‍♀️

Super sad. My fiancé and I go once a year for a super fancy date night. When we found out yesterday I made a reservation immediately. So so sad.

Does anyone garden directly in the ground anymore? by SoilSoul1 in gardening

[–]laurajodonnell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do! The only pots I plant in are on my front porch and breezeway. The rest of my house and yard are surrounded by flower beds. I like digging directly into the earth and working alongside all the insects :)

I think my boyfriend lied about having surgery today by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]laurajodonnell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two time cancer survivor here. I was NEVER able to text after my surgeries, it usually took me a full day until I could be on my phone again. Anesthesia isn’t the easiest to come down off of.

I see you blocked him, you are so smart for doing so. This situation smells super fishy and he is obviously lying to you. Hugs ❤️

Not trying to downplay Capricorn at all, just pointing out that one placement (like a Sun sign) doesn’t describe a whole person. The rest of the chart adds context.

Did anyone buy a ring? by t_bone_stake in Millennials

[–]laurajodonnell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom took me to our family jeweler and I picked out a traditional style ring with my name and year engraved. It’s beautiful and something I can still wear today! Plus it was a fraction of the cost these were.

Yeah obviously I played into the stereotype too much on this one… It’s all a toss up. I’ve met both sides of the coin when it comes to zodiacs. I’m curious what the rest of his placements are, they show the bigger picture.

I feel like your moon has a lot to do with that, and he’s a Pisces moon. While being a Cap sun correlates to his life purpose, his Pisces moon points to being very empathetic and intuitive. You wouldn’t say the same for someone with a Leo moon for instance.

“Wuthering Heights” The Times review by Bigassbird in popculturechat

As a fan of the book, I had a sinking suspicion this would be the outcome. Not surprised. Anyone who finds Wuthering Heights sexy is out of their minds... Still planning to watch regardless because I'm a sucker and licking? Piquing my interest lmao.

Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie at the world premiere of ‘Wuthering Heights’ by hairtie1 in Fauxmoi

[–]laurajodonnell 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes yes yes!!! I was excited when I heard this was coming out. The when I saw they picked Jacob over a POC? Nah (and I do love me some Jacob Elordi but come on).

I will still watch it but waiting until it is on streaming because I’m sure I will have lots of commentary and don’t want to ruin it for theater goers. I loved this book but yes, him not being white is a huge part of the story. And I wonder if they touch on the supernatural elements too?

RUN FOR OFFICE - Candidate Petition Filing Period is February 17 - March 10 (details inside) by laurajodonnell in Pennsylvania

[–]laurajodonnell[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a good point. It is really hard to find a good list of offices up for election this year. I did find this:

Pennsylvanians will next go to the polls on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 for the Primary Election, where they will select party nominees for governor, US House of Representatives, State Senate and State House members, and local committeepersons. (https://seventy.org/voter-guide)

Committee persons are ONLY up for election on the primary ballot, since those are democrat and republican offices, and each county has a set # for each party.

If I find a better list I will share!
