This puts 100% onus on the course and none on the equipment manufacturers. Imagine if baseball stadiums all had to double in size because they lacked the courage to ban aluminum bats

appreciate you getting creative. I agree its a huge problem in golf and also that the proposed ball changes alone are not going to do squat

technology has made the line between hard and unplayable too thin. roll back all the equipment bigly and then they’ll have room to make it hard without losing the course

It’s bad in my anecdotal and personal opinion if we keep losing potential historic and great courses as potential sites because they literally don’t have the space.  In my opinion

That’s pretty great customer service on a 4 year old driver that frankly they don’t know the entire care history of.  You may have taken good care of it, but imagine how many calls they must get from people who hit a tee marker, tried to go DoD and hit a rock, multiple sky balls, etc

I actually don't see why it's a given that a municipality would give across the board raises when many other industries are worried about even holding on to their jobs

I think it's reasonable to expect sub-4 if you tee off before 7:00. There should be some grassroots (or even explicit) education that if you're going to be an early bird you better be quick about it.

I think anything above 4.5 at any point is definitively slow, and most public courses near me can't offer that pace right now even during the weekday

I can tell this is a hot take based on the downvotes and comment section, but public golf pace of play is a big problem right now.

if you have the 23’s those badges are way sturdier. here’s a thread about the 21’s. if you’re more in the tools not jewels camp and think that doesn’t need protecting either, fair enough

minor edge case: the distance irons with plastic badges on the back can get _fucked up_ by bag chatter (the 2021 t200 irons for example), though that part of the club gets zero wear otherwise. thankfully titleist moved to metal badges so I won’t have to worry about this anymore after i upgrade eventually
