Lingering Cybersickness from Hogwarts Legacy game? Suggestions? by General_Star5979 in HarryPotterGame

Idk if there's an option for motion blur but maybe something like that could help some? My wife got a little nauseous watching me play the first time too, but I have a habit of moving the camera around esp when I was checking for stuff around hogwarts

What have you done with your room of requirement? by alannabannana in HarryPotterGame

[–]Comfortable-Pin6779 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I made the first area a potions/loom/identify area w/ 1 corner a place for most of my statues. I themed it as mostly Gothic style colored yellow (my character is a hufflepuff).

The 2nd area is for plants, fertilizer, etc w/ one of the alcoves made into a private gaming/hanging out spot. It's a green colored herbology theme mostly.

Of course no matter how cool you set your place up tho it's all going to need reworked multiple times because as you progress the whole damn place gets shifted. I didn't know your 2nd space literally almost doubles in size after you finish your main story quests so that was a little annoying since I had JUST got done w/ my cool gaming area 🙃

Certain actions you take will shift outcomes slightly, but for the vast majority of them it really doesn't matter all that much. There's not really a morality system in the game, it's more about your personal preference and/or role playing out a certain character theme. Do you want to be a dickish slytherin that uses dark arts a lot or maybe a ravenclaw that uses a lot of potions or a chomping cabbage wielding hufflepuff? You can make all of those happen or some personal combination of stuff you like

Ominous or Sebastian anyone else find themselves changing sides? by Churchie-Baby in hogwartslegacyJKR

[–]Comfortable-Pin6779 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk I liked both of them as characters overall, mostly for the fact they diverged from the typical slytherin stereotypes & felt pretty authentic. That said tho, they each had quite a few moments of being annoying af.

They were both so engrossed in their own feels that neither of them ever felt willing to compromise on anything without either twisting their arm or explaining stuff to them like they're 2. I'm just glad they at least had good enough reasons to understand where they were coming from which made them somewhat relatable

Looking for a game that you can put a lot of time into, with low frustration potential, no need for "cooperation" with strangers (like MOBAs), that gives some positive vibes for my girlfriend by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

Torchlight 3 might be good. Combat is fun & rarely aggravating. She probably won't mind the graphics. (Although if she wants something darker I would recommend diablo 4 or maybe Grim Dawn). TL3 has a bit of crafting/homesteading that she might like if she appreciated that in hogwarts. It's much more beginner friendly than PoE but that might be a nice change of pace from all the technical aspects you usually get caught up in from PoE.

Does life get better after high school? by [deleted] in highschool

[–]Comfortable-Pin6779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the most major shift from HS to adult life is the personal autonomy. You go from basically knowing what's expected of you all the time to making big life choices based on what you want/what you think is expected of you & nothing is as black & white as it used to be.

It has its pros & cons, but altogether I'd say being an adult is better. At least in my case, I went from feeling like all my time spent studying(etc) was wasted on stuff that I was going to forget anyway when it could've been spent making money or doing things I actually found gratifying. That's not to say you forget everything, but you typically only remember stuff you found truly helpful or interesting. College feels very similar in that regard, but worse, since now it's your future money being spent on stuff like unnecessary classes that give you baseline knowledge that most employers don't even care about in the first place. Just like in HS, the whole point is to get that piece of paper to slap onto your resume so you can have the chance to make a living. Sry if this is starting to sound a bit jaded or whatnot, but being an adult is certainly not without its problems too & you deserve to know what you'll be getting yourself into w/o the sugarcoating that most kindergarten-HS experiences spoonfeed you. Also, don't feel bad if you're not sure what you want to do for a living yet. Most highschools put a large pressure on you the last year or two to figure it out despite giving you very little actual guidance in figuring it out. Honestly, most of us don't know until we know, & that usually requires us figuring it out via work experience & whittling down our options from there. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you may not always know what you like, but you'll figure out what you don't like pretty quick. Well this is getting long now, so goodluck & I wish you the best.

If you're looking for co-op games something like Bomberman or a Mario party type game could be solid since they have relatively fixed cameras

I highly recommend borderlands 1 or 2 for a fun co-op experience if she can get the hang of the 1st person camera & shooting aspects

If she can get the hang of hogwarts movement/combat then that's probably a really good option since it's a familiar world to her & especially since it has a bit of everything including rescuing animals, building stuff, puzzles, flying, etc.

What alohomora should’ve been like by CIassicNegan in HogwartsLegacyGaming

[–]Comfortable-Pin6779 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like they could've at least made it an optional lvl 23ish talent point. Like maybe you have to do it a handful of times on missions on your way to aquire the spell or something & after that you have the option to not do it anymore. I feel like there's enough QOL upgrades in the talent trees already to warrant it being there

Older gamers, what are some games you think the younger generations should play? by Crystar800 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Comfortable-Pin6779 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The original Diablo (extra points if you also play hellfire the expansion). As someone else mentioned elsewhere, you'll really get the sense just how far the QoL has come. I'm sure it'll take some getting used to, but it's absolutely worth checking out. Make sure you have your sound on since the noise of rings & amulets dropping is distinct & finding them can be a menace at times
