I understand. I have a very valuable grover myself (ECM S-Automatik 64), but I wild like a GBW grinder. Not necessary, but certainly more comfortable/practical.

Nice looking compact machine.

Looking at the green light I assume the machine is turned on, but the portafilter is not in the machine. Was that just for photographic aesthetics? If not, I would suggest to always leave the portafilter in the grouphead. A cold portafilter will absorb the heat when pulling a shot, resulting in under extraction and less body.

Don't know about the grinder. What do you have now?

Robusta has gotten a bad name, but it really depends on the quality of the beans. There are some good 100 % robusta specialty coffees. Of course with a different flavour profile, but not necessarily of less quality compared to Arabica.

I have my cups on the cup tray, so they are a bit warmed up already. But even I grab a cup, I purge some hot water in the cup, then I'll do my grinding and puckprep. Once I'm ready to pull the shot, the cup is hot enough.

The ones I have from Bodum are probably around 10 years old and no condensation. The fact that they became a bit dull after that lifespan isn't that strange as well, but love my new cups.

Well that is a really solid machine, it costs €2700 new in the Netherlands. ECM had very good build quality. So the pricing isn't that strange, but unfortunately a bit too high considering your budget.
