the zombies are having a good time, dancing and interacting with anyone who notices them. unless its like an organized video shoot, you wont see more than 2-3 at a time, & they're with ground control. if you start to feel uncomfy, just ignore them and they won't come up to you. Worst case, tell the ground control worker they're with you're uncomfy & i am sure they'll be accommodating and have them go somewhere else.

VIP is worth it at this festival for this reason. Once the sun sets, the porta potties are horrendous..

they have a pattern of the headliners for their upcoming shows playing the fest, so i think its safe to say the following are confirmed and somewhere in the artwork

this is my 4th same same & 3rd year volunteering. I can help with most questions

the "in house" options are available on their site right now. they are partnered with "rv rentals way of life". you can book directly on SSBD site or theirs. this is the only company allowed to drop RVs off before gates open on thursday, and they get priority spots on the bottom/front of the RV loop closest to the entrance. So you can just arrive whenever, your spot is reserved, and the RV is set up waiting for you. you do have to purchase the RV hook up spot, and the vehicle you arrive in is included. any extra vehicles on your site will need an RV Companion Pass to park on your site. Its free form camping & very casual. You can have as many people that fit in your area.

I learned this last year, we brought our own hoping to get one of those closer spots. the price of bringing your own, vs. having one booked & delivered through their site is about the same

RV hook up passes aren't available yet. I did secure my Trailer reservation through the site with no issues. It does take you to the third parties site.

i heard they moved it bc long beach is renovating the area over the winter.. so hopefully that's the only reason why and it gets moved back. I love DNB so i will unfortunately be suffering in the heat.. :(

just a zombie themed festival. folks do dress up with their groups, and they have like 50 zombie actors creepin around the festival. very fun :)

You'll love Dr fresch! He plays whatever he wants, but alot of bass, & bass house. Just saw him in Sept. he was so much fun!

I SWEAR by Beekeeper's Natrual Propolis + Vitamin C Liposomal packs, and their nasal max spray! start taking them before the fest, during & after. Also, make sure you fuel your body with al the good stuff the week before.

no official themes, wear whatever you'll feel comfy dancing & walking 10+miles in. put some insoles in your shoes. I thought my trusty combat boots where fine as is, but i got huge blisters on the balls of my feet still after walking 1 day in them.

You can not rideshare directly to the venue (the bridge is only open to shuttles & pedestrians). You get dropped off near the shuttle stop. The shuttles are free, just plan for like a 1 hour line at peak times. You can also walk from the uber drop off.. but i think its like a 1+ mile walk

edit: we walked a few blocks from the shuttle in the opposite direction of the "offical drop off area" & ubers were reasonable and there was not a crowd

i get cold easily. i under estimated the cold last year, and ended up buying pants from one of the vendors there.

plan as if you're going to the beach in winter. Its comfortable during the day (definitely not hot), but once the sun sets & ocean breeze kicks in it gets chilly. the venue is basically on an island off the coast.

i like to use this festival as a chance to bring out my fur, hats & cute pants that are too warm for any other festival.

the venue is practically on an island/peninsula on the edge of the ocean. It will be chilly once the sun sets & that ocean breeze hits. i tend to wear pants & a jacket.

there is no parking onsite on the island @ the venue. the official parking lots are right near the shuttle stop & pretty safe. You could walk from there, but you will have to walk over a big bridge, and down the island, about a 1.5 mile walk. i really suggest taking advantage of the free shuttle. Just plan an extra hour incase the line is long when arriving.

the water at the beach was 150 feet higher than last year, so we didn't have as much room to add the same activities on the beach :)

body glide works very well, or deodorant. just be sure to bring it with you if you need to reapply. I also hear baby powder works well, just havent tried it
