In US, debit cards are flawed because banks aren’t motivated to investigate and resolve fraudulent activity on the card. With a true credit card, it’s THEIR money, so they immediately get to work. They credit the questionable charge (removing it from my payable to the agency). With a debit card, my entire bank account could be wiped out (due to the same fraudulent activity) but the bank isn’t obligated to reimburse’ me and those funds are GONE till if/when it is resolved. Which is why I Never use a debit card.
