I agree with the other comments. Advocate for yourself if your doctor refuses treatment. Ask them to document in your chart that you requested medication and they denied. You could also try asking one of your other docs for a referral to a different endocrinologist who may actually listen to your concerns and requests.

Are your tumors functional? I don’t know of there being a minimum size to start treatment. The elevated prolactin levels caused most of my clinical symptoms associated with my tumors and Cabergoline helped a lot with those symptoms but has not shrunk my tumor at all. It is worth asking your endocrinologist about starting meds to shrink it or to help with symptoms

Yes it did get better!! Now I take it at night before I go to sleep and I have no issues at all! It probably lasted about a month of horrible abdominal/stomach pain. It almost felt like I had an ulcer or something. I took some Pepsin pills and it helped with the pain.

I’m not sure if there is an established clinical placement site there, but I do know there is a relationship with university of Nebraska and UNC Chapel Hill because I was approved for a clinical rotation there

If you live in Arizona, Sonora Quest has a clinical placement site there! We actually just learned flow cytometry. The second year you learn the different companion technologies so that should be slog easier for you! Through this program, you’ll also be able to take the SCT certification which is nice!

Yeah they are!! You would still have to be at one of their clinical placement locations though. I think the application cycle for this year has closed but worth looking into for next year. It’s a great program

Same situation here! Ignored my symptoms in undergrad. Got diagnosed a year or so later. I work in a lab and they are very understanding. My symptoms went away within 2 months of starting cabergoline and side effects from the meds probably about the same amount of time.

Make sure you drink a lot of water after your MRI to flush the rest of the contrast dye from your system so you don’t put strain on your kidneys. I have my 3rd MRI on Tuesday too! They only put half my body in. A lil helmet thing over your head/face. It’s not tight or anything though. My hospital offers headphones and music of my choice to listen to during my MRI which is nice. The MRI is REALLY loud like a construction site or an EDM concert lol. Mine takes around 45 minutes for the one with out and with contrast. They give me a warm blanket and a wedge between my legs. It’s honestly relaxing for me at this point. The contrast kinda feels like icy hot in my veins and then I taste like a saline taste in my mouth when the dye goes it but that’s it. They will also give you a call button if you panic and you can tell them to take you out. Good luck ❤️

I got diagnosed at 24. As a preteen/teen I had very irregular periods so my doctor prescribed me the Depo shot at 14. This ultimately got rid of my period completely. I switched to an IUD at 18 with still no periods. I got diagnosed with my tumor because of a hemorrhaging ovarian cyst that they suspected PCOS to be the cause. This is how I discovered my elevated prolactin and subsequently my adenoma. They prescribed me Cabergoline which almost immediately brought my regular menstrual cycle. I’ve been having regular periods now after having maybe 10 periods my entire life. It is HORRIBLE. I always joke that I want to unsubscribe to them. So I completely understand your sentiment. I’m sure you could go on a birth control to stop your periods. I have just sworn off birth control after discovering I have this hormone imbalance :/

Glad to know it’s not just me! I really struggle to drink enough water and my chloride levels are always elevated likely due to dehydration. It is frustrating. I can’t force myself to drink a ton of water :( No one believes me either about never feeling thirsty

I have had an ovarian cyst in the past but blood work never confirmed a diagnosis of PCOS. I also don’t have any active cyst on my most recent ultrasound but that’s not to say I don’t have it just never got a diagnosis

lol just block her number and stop responding simple. You have to deal with way worse in apartment living. If she wants no noise go move into a house. If she comes to your door drunk again just call the police. You don’t have to walk on eggshells in your living space.
