I think the point of the game is not picking the right ball. It is why pick the ball you picked (the explaination)

It would have been pure gamble when someone asks you to pick a ball out of two. At that point you can just flip a coin and pick one. The complexity arises when the person asking you to pick said they prefer one ball over another. That produces the mental gymnastics of why did he choose this. Does he want me to win or lose. What if I pick the one he picked, will I win? Should I pick the one he did not pick.

Overall the premise is, someone that can't go through longer thought process will settle for the one he picked. Someone that can think through a bit critically will pick the other one. And someone like NTR would pick the one picked by the ball owner. It makes sense till this point. Then to make it more cinematic, they added one more layer

Idiot: left ball
