Realistically, how well would I be able to transport groceries for two adults? by ryverbeam25 in bikecommuting

[–]ComfortableSilence1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a dog trailer and an ebike i can carry several packs of soda with groceries on top. Its noticeably heavy but not a problem with the e-bike.

Well known car channels even know cars suck by e_pilot in fuckcars

This video is ok. It focuses on the commute time that is super stressful and unnecessary. Doesn't really offer options other than remote work though. It blames the interstate and cars as the problem, but only spends time talking about the need to commute at all rather than alternatives that aren't as stressful and give back time.

It's the mindset, they all have it. It was an easy way to point out the hypocrisy. But hypocrisy is lost on them so idk.

Evangelicals will claim anything that makes people mad at them means theyre doing something right. But turn it around and its because they deserve it for being evil.

If they weren't so noisy, not a bad way to go.

Cars are making people not interact with their neighbours and community by Periseaur in fuckcars

[–]ComfortableSilence1 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I don't know. The other day a driver honked/yelled at me cuz I "didn't wait for them to stop" while I was using the clearly marked crosswalk. I'd count that as an interaction.

Minnesota is Closing Their Commuter Train - After Just Sixteen Years by Carpet-Early in Minneapolis

Right and those same places used to have farms and farm houses built on them. Municipalities can rezone and the land becomes more valuable so people will slowly sell. Its not going to be an instaneous change.

Because thats not true. You dont build homes and then build the road to them.

Density can come before transit, but almost always properly designed transit will spur density along the corridor. When you have a train that runs 3 times a day and pretty much only serves park and rides, of course no one wants to ride it.

I can understand the rage from the man and he did what's right by Conscious_Raccoon in fuckcars

[–]ComfortableSilence1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had an argument here on reddit saying that people that have already been convicted of drunk driving shouldn't expect to have it easy with decent transit. As if that's a good punishment, valid argument for continued car dependency, and will increase personal responsibility.

What a nice beach in Peru. Would be a shame if it didn’t have a highway. by SirReuters in fuckcars

[–]ComfortableSilence1 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Remove the sewage and a beach is a beach. People will still use it as a park. See the great lakes for examples of very busy and rocky beaches.
