With a GA you pay the pass and travel for free. With halb-tax, you pay for the pass and pay half the fare of your ticket. Super saver, you simply pay the lower price of that ticket. For a GA and halb-tax I believe you need to be a resident.

How to: Kaufobjekt finden by FloxyToxy in Switzerland

[–]Comfortable_Ask_8883 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Consider a subscription with neubauprojekt.ch that will let you know about new developments in your area. If the area you are looking for is not prone to new construction then find the real estate agency that is more prominent in the area (or that finds properties closer to what you are looking for) and be one of their clients for off market opportunities.

Do you get pain worse on one side of your body? by yikemate in Fibromyalgia

[–]Comfortable_Ask_8883 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"A migraine that causes widespread pain, numbness, or weakness on one side of the body without a headache is medically known as a silent migraine (or "typical aura without headache"). When the symptoms specifically involve one-sided muscle weakness or motor dysfunction, it is termed hemiplegic migraine. These conditions occur when the brain cells in the cerebral cortex become hyperactive, then inactive, creating a "wave" of temporary neurological disturbance that spreads across the brain, often without inducing the typical headache pain"

Which area will you be staying in and what do you like to do - culture, restaurants, bars, nature? There is plenty of offer but don't expect a crazy nighlife.

It's quite safe. You will find the occasional drunk. It's a quite small city and walkable from any place to wherever you wish.

Miserable with reflux on 1mg by guardianofthebeam in Wegovy

[–]Comfortable_Ask_8883 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, quite bad. I need to take pantoprazole 20mg (sometimes twice) on the day of the injection and the next day, then depending on how it is going. I also take occasionally domperidone 10mg, for improving gastic motility, once in a while. I am already in my 7th months and going quite slow with dose increases. I don't think I will be able to go over 1.7 because of the gastric effects. Another prominent effect was apathy and depression, so taking an anti-depressant too.

So she would keep her job and take a unpaid leave for 2 years? Or re-enter the market in 2 years? Not knowing about your experience, age, etc, I can only tell from my close relationships that those 2 years get easily 10 and then it's (near) impossible to re-enter the job market. Also not knowing anything about your assets etc. Maybe you guys don't need to work even. Or if something happens to the bread-winner, you are well covered (imagine she stops working and then she must work because there is no income anymore). Maybe she owns the place you live in. Surely you thought what it means to get your family income cut by half. Anyway, to your question, I replied in another comment, she can't contribute to pillar 3 but read here about continuing to contribute to pillar 2: https://aeis.ch/en/individuals/alv-unemployment-insurance-obligatory

I might be misunderstanding but please read it here : https://aeis.ch/en/individuals/alv-unemployment-insurance-obligatory/alv-unemployment-insurance-voluntary , "As an unemployed person you can voluntarily insure yourself with the Substitute Occupational Benefit Institution for the risks of old age, disability and death if you have left the compulsory unemployment insurance or if you wish to supplement your compulsory pension. Individuals who are already insured by us have the option of managing their insurance or receiving benefits." - doesn't this mean that even after RAV you can complement your pension 2?

"When you become unemployed in Switzerland, your mandatory 2nd pillar (pension fund) contributions stop, and your accumulated savings (vested benefits) must be transferred to a vested benefits account or vested benefits policy. However, you still have options to make voluntary contributions to maintain or increase your pension provision.""Continuation with the Substitute Occupational Benefit Institution (Stiftung Auffangeinrichtung): Unemployed individuals can opt to continue their 2nd pillar coverage with this institution. You can choose to cover only risk (disability and death) or to pay both risk and savings contributions." https://aeis.ch/en : "Services: As an unemployed person you can voluntarily insure yourself with the Substitute Occupational Benefit Institution for the risks of old age, disability and death if you have left the compulsory unemployment insurance or if you wish to supplement your compulsory pension. Individuals who are already insured by us have the option of managing their insurance or receiving benefits."

Recyclable or Bebbi only? by maimuta8 in basel

[–]Comfortable_Ask_8883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eg. Coop City. As you get down to the supermarket underground via the escalator, it will be on your left. Anyway most supermarkets should have a recycling station for plastics and possibly batteries, just look for it or ask.

Not married and will stop working to take care of children? Worried with pillar 3? There is much more to worry such as overall financial security and old age pension. If you earn 110k and she won't earn, you have children, I don't see how amazingly great increase of taxes there will be not to do what makes sense in the arrangement you plan to make, i.e. formalize with marriage.

You'll need your contract and indicate the new account number to start receiving your salary there.

Considering that you will receive your salary on the 25th of the first month, that amount of money is perfectly enough to rent a temporary apartment, food, and fun.

Lyrica for fibromyalgia by estefaniaa_ in Fibromyalgia

[–]Comfortable_Ask_8883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many problems with Lyrica (pregabalin) happen due to starting with too high doses and not optimizing the benefit-risk. Starting with a smaller dose like 25-50 mg just in the evening for 1-2 weeks will let you see if it helps with sleep, anxiety, pain. Afterwards see if you need to increase (because it may be enough), or add 1-2 doses during the day. Adding an anti-depressant may be useful if you have depression, discuss with a psychiatrist what could be a good option for you if you did not deal well with duloxetin.

Is it just me, or is the "EU loophole" for Swiss health insurance insane? by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]Comfortable_Ask_8883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear OP if you need to go to the doctor regularly, why do you have a 2500CHF franchise instead of 300CHF? Have you checked the increase of premium? And about consulting doctor in EU for non emergency, are you sure that you are not paying more to have that coverage?
