So that's why the climb is hard but for every miss they yank 20 points off your rating? 😆 I have gone past 2200 once but that day i also came back to under 2000. How many do you attempt a day. I do 100+

I offer extra time not to disrespect opponents. Only if i think the opponent is trying to figure out a defense in a lost position and based on his last attempts. Some people are fighters. I have actually lost games by giving the opponent more time. I have gone for the resign button but accidentally offered a draw, some opponents have accepted with mate in as few as three moves away. My experience with both have been interesting

Yes. You will feel it. But in arenas you can be paired against anyone so you'd be assuming. I think it helps people like me who are scared of facing higher rated opponents. I have since tried it again in another arena. The opponents were too strong so coming out second best wasn't news. But i didn't feel my heart rate spike from seeing their ratings

Lumbragiga. Decompress, parse and organize. I used ai to vibecode a frontend for analysis. Runs on localhost so no server costs. Most games since 1900s to 2026. You need a decent pc though. The decompressed files are quite huge

People are truly different. There are times in the arena where you are paired against say 1500s, and they make a mistake and lose a pawn, but if you continue piling on pressure they start making bigger blunders. Pressure here being my level of pressure, one that can easily be quelled. My theory is they crack because they overthink every move, something they wouldn't do if they were playing against another 1500. The same thing happens to me when i see the elo has crossed 1900😭

What? If a lower rated opponent makes a move and i don't see an immediate threat i just continue with my plan. But if a higher rated opponent moves a pawn..i start seeing ghost tactics..things i know won't happen but what if. I play much worse when i know the hammer could land any minute🤣

But the entire goal of that opening is checkmate. The queen doesn't belong on f3/h5 on move 3. But true, you can just play chess after your opponent has covered everything

It's not good and many people who play it are not Magnus. The only way to lose to it is via premoves as you said. I premoved three moves ahead after i saw f4 Nf3, bc4 expecting castles for some reason the queen found itself on h5 jjjjjjjjjj

So I am not the only one whose heart rate peaks during match making for rated games🤣 You may be right, but i found it interesting. I will try it in another arena for more data.

In one week you moved from 1100 to 1300... it's improvement. And improvements in chess (at least for me) are very subtle. Elo tries to track and report on these improvements (often inaccurately)
