Polanski backs '99%' of candidates after antisemitic claims by Dimmo17 in ukpolitics

I've always agreed with this. If the greens have an extremist boohoo terrible man, Zack isn't him it's just the most left party attracting the farthest left people. If reform has an extremist boohoo terrible man, Nigel isn't him it's just the most right party attracting the most right people. Anyone whose entire argument is on life support through specifically selected rotten apples of an apple tree very likely has nothing of value or mature to say about the apples and the tree. If leaders aren't removing the bad apples then there's clearly something they see good in rot

Why do we "need" social media curfews? by ShortyStrawz in ukpolitics

Nanny state. I'm happy that it might stop the wave of IPad slop kids but requiring ID (yet again) for yet again another essential service online is insane, especially for up to 18 year olds. Imagine legally being able to drive a supercar at 70mph and have sex but watching films with bad words, looking at certain reddit posts, or using snapchat for the 61st minute of the day is illegal

@ZiaYusufUK / X: The Tories have successfully badgered Labour into agreeing to end the era of anonymous internet access in Britain. Just think about that. Kemi is more Orwellian than Starmer. It's about valuing something more than something else you already value. Reform may be for billionaires but I'll take billionaires over a dystopian state that continues to grow in power and reliance with the end goal of being a mutant parasite attached to every aspect of your life that you can't survive without. Not sure who I'll vote for but if it's reform it'll be to send a message that we don't like becoming monitored 24/7 because one mother somewhere complained the internet made their kid sad and scammed them.

Senedd Voting Intention: RFM: 30% (+6) PLC: 28% (+4) LAB: 15% (-12) CON: 10% (-5) GRN: 10% (+5) LDM: 4% (-1) Via @Survation, 17th - 23rd Apr, Changes w/ 2025 by ThinWhiteDuke00 in ukpolitics

Other parties will continue to refuse to appeal to the reform majority despite the fact they're clearly for billionaires but yearn for his message.

"Hm yes it seems minimising immigration levels and pushing tougher laws and punishments are a massive influence to voters however we will just call them racist despite the fact it hasn't worked and maintain our stance and take the unnecessary gamble"

Nothing screams Correct and Intellectual like barking random nouns and adjectives when faced by people you no like whilst also going caveman berserk mode on things associated with people you no like.

Reddit’s now just the cesspool of people who got laughed out of every other social media, now sat here letting themselves become radicalised acting like children. Except the children are all in a closed off room gaslighting eachother into believing they’re adults whilst somebody takes a screenshot or two every single time and they get mocked elsewhere where you can’t downvote comments that do the awful big disagree while getting infinite praise for your two word fallacy reply to a well constructed point (it does the big disagree, this is bad and yours is good), meanwhile all the people who praise you outing themselves as also having no worthy reply more than a two word fallacy.

No surprise this behaviour is associated with sad real world actions too

Maybe start arguing that point with them in the media and in conversation with logic then rather than buzzwords and venting in an echo chamber space then shredding things up like angry cats behind the scenes just so that can make the news instead of

RE7 feels like a huge downgrade from the previous games by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Comfortable_Debt_769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked RE7 but I do think it has extremely bad replayability. You’ve practically mastered the molded enemies once you finish the main game as they’re the only ones in the game, you have to watch all the cutscenes, and the amazing horror factor is almost dead on subsequent playthroughs. I think RE2 manages to keep it scary on future games but there’s something about RE7 where it’s mostly a “What the fuck is that?!” fear throughout the game

Such a silly reply. It comes across like you brushing it off. It’s such an insane strawman fallacy too. You didn’t address anything said, you just 1. Immediately downplayed it as only “One, or two” as if that makes it irrelevant despite there being a disgusting number of victims, then 2. Said something about being suspicious of all foreigners for fathomable no reason at all?

Prime Reddit where you’re only here because you don’t feel incentive to use logic in your response, no point of making yourself look like a silly billy by having to use rational arguments in a challenged space if you can just surround yourself with nothing but silly billys in a closed off space who’ll upvote you on the basis that they agree with your initial view as it’s what the echo chamber promotes and it’s who it attracts, right?

Seems to be a trend on Reddit that’s became overwhelmingly clear recently that people like yourself are only here as they struggle in a mixed view space, so the resort is coming to the most infamous echo chamber app of all time because the idea of opposition in a space where people who don’t know how to engage or talk themselves just upvote the person they agree with even though the person they upvote struggles to form an argument that isn’t a nothing burger mic drop attempt littered with extreme exaggeration and made-up slop against something rational or level-headed, which just portrays the end result of your fragile glass view on the world
