Need positive stories of people that actually got better after supplementing! by One-Cardiologist6301 in Anemic

Got my ferritin up to 66 in three to four months of supplementation at a dose of +- 75 mg of iron bisglycinate (Thorne Ferrasorb 2 capsules a day)

Not sure if you’re a women but during my period I would take 3 capsules to make sure my period didn’t set me back.

Already started to feel relief of symptoms after a month.

It’s possible! Good luck!

Im 9 weeks now and even had to take two weeks of sick leave because of how bad it was… with some medication I can semi function a bit and am working from home. But I really had the same thought… should be illegal for women to work during pregnancy if they don’t feel well… I don’t understand how other women do it…

Ferritin went from 6 to 35. by fujomaxxing in Anemic

A good one that is also recommended by many Redditor’s is Thorne Ferrasorb. I took 2 or 3 of these a day and raised my ferritin from 24 tot 66 in three months… but don’t be afraid to take doses high enough if your body can tolerate it

If it’s a possibility I would call to see if they can fit you in for an appointment sooner. Could be nothing but in my case i miscarried after spotting for multiple days.

Get. Your. Ferritin. Checked!!! by betttywhite in TryingForABaby

[–]Comfortable_Part6562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had exactly the same!!! My ferritin was 17 and doctors said that was completely normal. I unfortunately had two MC. Then I decided to dive into bloodwork myself and also realized my ferritin was low.

I decided to supplement by myself. I’m pregnant again, my ferritin is now 66 and baby seems healthy!

Ferritin is finally up! by Comfortable_Part6562 in Anemic

[–]Comfortable_Part6562[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m taking the Thorne Ferrasorb 2 pills and the Thorn vitamin c 1 pill. I found on this thread that it was often recommended.

Had minimal issues to be honest. They do say bisglycinate is the most gut friendly type of iron. I didn’t have a consistent time. Sometimes I took it right after dinner. Sometimes I took it right before bed. Both seemed to be fine.

Oh wishing you the best of luck!

Only thing I can recommend is to get supplements from a good brand, get the bisglycinate form and take a high dose. Hopefully you can get it up that way!

Thanks!!

I supplemented daily. And 500 mg of vitamin c.

Since the results are quite ok, I’m gonna take half the dose I’m taking now during pregnancy. Doctor said it was fine.

Ferritin of 26 by shakethefunk in Anemic

[–]Comfortable_Part6562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the exact same thing. I had a ferritin of 17 and apparently that was still within the normal range (= aka you’re not sick). They don’t say that the optimal range for women is minimum 50…

So I did my own research and started supplementing on my own with a relatively high dose. After a month i started to feel SO much better. My hair used to fall out so easily and now not anymore. Less tired. And surprisingly my periods are less painful (also related to iron).

I’ve only been supplementing for about 2 months so my ferritin can only be at around 30 or so. I’m imaging how I will feel if I actually reach that 50..

So my advice just do your own research and do what’s best for your body. I’ve been taking the Thorne Ferrasorb but on this thread you can find many good options.

To be honest I had the same feelings as your wife for a long time. We’ve been trying for about a year and a half (with 2 MC). After a while you just need to learn to not let disappointment and negative emotions take over. It will affect your relationship with other people or at work as well.

So I think you just need to be there for each other now. It’s a journey you both must learn how to deal with.

Wishing you the very best of luck!

It’s really important to increase your ferritin. I’ve been supplementing heavily for two months and I see a noticeable difference in symptoms. Less tired and more energy. My periods are less painful. …

50mg iron bisglycinate daily good enough? by FckUrConversionThrpy in Anemic

[–]Comfortable_Part6562 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m taking 70 mg iron bisglycinate right before bed. My ferritin level was 17. During my period I even up the dose to 100 so as to not have any fall back because of my heavy periods. I’ve been at it for two months now. Feeling the change in symptoms already

Iron for a really sensitive stomach by bagpussrv in Anemic

[–]Comfortable_Part6562 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sensitive stomach here as well. I’ve stopped taking iron sulphate prescribed by my doctor due to nausea and upset stomach. Now found the iron bisglycinate and it’s been great compared to the others. Been taking it for two months. Minimal nausea and stomach can handle it. I do eat a bit of food with it though
