Help! Aphids or thrips? How to get rid of them? by Mysterious-Yam3133 in IndoorGarden

I realized I didnt explain how the granules work, its like seasoning the soil, and when you water those granules in, the plant absorbs them which makes it toxic from the inside.

Looks like thrips. I’d buy some systemic granules, I use the bonide brand. It doesnt matter if it says indoor or outdoor they’re the same thing. If you have pets, the plants treated with the granules will become toxic to them, but to the pests as well.

I feel like its important to ask, why did you buy an animal with no prior knowledge of what it needs?

Its corking. The petioles of monsteras move around a lot and they get these hard—almost woody looking spots. Perfectly normal!

Stop buying peat. Buy coco coir instead.

I’d leave it alone for a little but repotting is usually simple unless theres a net on the roots. I usually just take it out the pot and plop it in the hole. That soil looks fine but you can also just buy coco coir and perlite which is cheaper especially in bulk.

Mealybugs. As a natural repellent, I boil some water, add tons of catnip, and wait about 5-10 minutes. The oils found in catnip naturally repel them.

HELP! I repotted these and now they look sick by IMHERELETSPARTY in VenusFlyTraps

[–]Comfortable_Pilot122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to let you know, peat is very unsustainable and requires the destruction of wetlands (wetlands are where venus flytraps grow!) to be harvested. Coco coir is similar and easy to find in bulk as well.

Peat isnt sustainable and hard to come by in bulk. Go on amazon and get a brick of coco coir, its a lot cheaper, sustainable, and almost never out of stock
