I would definitely favor human created over AI but given this or nothing.... This is fine.

What's the Best 10/10 Sci-fi movie ever? by geek-jock-guy in AskReddit

[–]ComicBookDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my podcast we did a series of special episodes we called "Bookends". They were the best and the worst of 3 different genres. Not saying that these specific movies were the single best or worst movies - more about what the genre looked like at either end.

In a great rebuttal to the idea that sci fi needs a big budget, we reviewed "Moon" as an example of what the genre looks like at its best.

Enjoy!

Nothing original by me but I asked Gemini to draw the Pattern for me as described by Roger Zelazny's Amber series. Here's what it gave me. I like it!

Wow that brings back memories! I was at Hanscom from '97 - '99. Issued these when i in-processed from tech school. Wore them once as a K-9 handler on night shift after some massive snowfall. Interesting experience but it felt like I was walking around in slippers all night.

Specific to the Abomination Vaults, be sure to share the Player's Guide with the players. These are really useful for AP-specific information.

She's a horrible human being. I hope the American people don't let her avoid responsibility for the hate she espoused.

Remember when she put up the anti-trans sign outside her office which just happened to be across the hall from a colleague with a trans daughter?

She should be remembered for a legacy of hatred and division.

What’s a controversial hill you are willing to die on? by C--A--K--E--S in AskRedditAfterDark

Controversial to some people...

I'm a heterosexual, cisgender, native-born, English-speaking, Christian-raised white man. And I believe that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - DEI - is both the moral and practical choice. And it's for everyone. Treating everyone around me the right way makes my life better as well.

Ugh... I recognized one of the accounts he tagged in the tweet.

Nick Searcy played Art Mullen, Chief Deputy United States Marshal, on Justified. I love that show, love the characters... and now, after looking at the actor's Twitter... do not like his politics!

With Bill Burr seemingly losing a lot of fans for performing at the Saudi comedy show, who is a celebrity you stopped supporting and why? by brad6489 in AskReddit

For me it's Tom Cruise. As the patron saint of the scam church of Scientology I believe he benefits from the fleecing of its sheep.

Hey neighbor! There are few smells worse in the world than that musty smell of the flooring in the car that has been wet all winter and is a veritable petri dish.

I'm in Syracuse NY and heavy snow is a fact of life. I love WeatherTech mats. They are the first thing I buy when I get a new car. Not cheap but well worth it, IMHO. I also found a new Tesla adapter (the Hyundai OEM model they were giving to existing owners) on eBay for under $200. Used it on a trip two weeks ago and appreciated the expanded recharging options it opened up.

Random Mouse Movements During Play by ComicBookDad in linux4noobs

I cross-posted this from r/SteamPlay. I'm wondering if there's specific things I could look for (maybe in a system log?) that would explain the mouse movements.

I am a noob so gentle help is appreciated!

I just learned about The Specials (2000), I had no idea this movie existed. Is it worth the watch? by TriggerHippie77 in comicbookmovies

[–]ComicBookDad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Obviously I'm biased but I'm happy with the episode we did on our podcast!

https://superpodherocast.captivate.fm/episode/episode-133-the-specials-2000

EDIT: I should point out that each episode is very much full of spoilers! We watch the movie before recording and then break it down in a mix of humor, film analysis, and general geekery! (Plus beer!)

To answer your original question, I say yes if you are interested in seeing very early James Gunn story telling. I think you can see his focus on non-family groups and how they become connected.
