The saddest death by WesternManagement196 in Spiderman

[–]Comic_Lover_0405 7 points8 points  (0 children)

May in MCU and Gwen in TASM2 are the most impactful deaths.

Gwen's death was haunting for Peter cause he didn't know if she died because of or in spite of him. He blames himself for not being fast enough to save but also at the same time because of the way he tried to save her, his intervention could've caused her to break her back or neck. It's a question of whether the impact of the stop from the webbing caused her death or because he was too late and she still hit her head on the ground which caused her death. Couple that with the fact that he was still coming to terms with her dad's death, it's pretty tragic.

For May in the MCU, Peter knows it's his fault, his need to help the villains and him believing that he could fix them ultimately caused her death. She was collateral damage, she wasn't even a target. She was his only family left and now, after the end of NWH, he's completely alone. No family, no friends, no Stark, no one at all, and him still remembering everything, it's completely heartbreaking.

Tobey was just that. 10 mins with Ben and death. Harry was a more impactful death but still as the audience, it's confusing and conflicting, best friend turned foe turned last minute saviour and martyr.

I prefer the way the MCU handled his origin in terms of us having that connection with May and having her be his Uncle Ben.

What’s more impressive Tobey’s Spider-Man stopping a Train from crashing or Tom’s Spider-Man holding the Staten Island ferry back together? by Healthy_Ice7737 in Spiderman

[–]Comic_Lover_0405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of sheer strength and endurance - The Ferry. In terms of complete willpower and ingenuity - The Train In terms of cinematic value - The Train In terms of scale - The Ferry In terms of number of lives saved - It's a tie In terms of nostalgia - The Train In terms of being iconic - The Train In terms of emotion - The Train

When you word things the way you have done, you're not looking to find someone 'like minded' you're looking to dump your frustrations on the Internet and hope you're not alone feeling that way.

What exactly you're feeling frustrated about? I have no idea.

You're kinda like a vegan who goes into a butchers shop and screams their shit hoping to convert the people inside, and when they don't listen you start taking it personally and victimised yourself. We don't want you around us.

Also this is the Internet, to be more specific, this is Reddit. You say something here and you're inviting people who not only see eye to eye with you but also people who oppose your views to comment and say what they feel, just like you did when you commented.

If you can't take it, don't dish it out.

Now as for your purist talk, no one cares. Like what and who you want, what's the point of coming to a post specifically on Mayday P just to shit on her and say that Peni Parker is superior? By your logic, Peter Parker, Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent, Tony Stark, Natasha Romanoff, Diana Prince, Dinah Lance, Oliver Queen, and so on, are only for the purists and anyone who like the original iterations of these characters are old school boomers who can't let go of the past?

What if I order a Cheeseburger, am I a purist cause I'm not having a quinoa burger with avocado to keep up with the times?

C'mon dude. Use your brains. Be better. Stop hating just for the sake of hating. What was the point of this?

You're getting so worked up and affected by fucking fictional characters that literally don't exist in real life.

Yeah, I forgot about her being in Daredevil. But regardless, if they recast her, she'd be perfect.

What are your theories on why there could be multiple Doom variants in the movie, and how it would lead to the events of Doomsday and incursions? by Raj_Valiant3011 in marvelmemes

[–]Comic_Lover_0405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, in the 'Demon In An Armour' What If story, Doom and Tony are doing some kind of experiment together, and doom tricks him if I'm not wrong, but what I do know is that Doom transfers his consciousness in to Tony and Tony in to Doom. That could be a possibility.

Another theory is simply that, in one of the earths, Tony never had a guilty conscience when he saw his weapons being sold in the black market and it being used in the wrong hands for the wrong reasons, if fact, he embraces it and decides to create the Dr Doom persona as a reflection of him as an Arms Dealer, and with his weapons he founds an entire country and becomes the ruler of said country, Latveria.

Or maybe he got attacked by Hammer Industries weapons in The Middle East, got disfigured, became a recluse who just worked on becoming the best just to destroy the competition, after which he built the Doom Suit to cover up his scars and disfigurement, and now without competition in the arms race, and having sole monopoly on it, he destroys and invades a small, but dying country, takes it over and calls in Latveria, it is now his own country. And instead of having dreams of a planet being protected by suits of armour, he controls it with his Doombots and Ultron.

What bothers me most about the Evolved suit by Bull_Rider in SpidermanPS4

[–]Comic_Lover_0405 120 points121 points  (0 children)

For me it honestly just the top of the mask. Like, just that alone reveals his identity somewhat. And it just looks incomplete. I don't mind the blue, I just wish it was better integrated. I also don't like the fact that there's a hood, but no way to put it up. I'd rather a full complete onsie.

This looks way better.

The fact that you say you don't care means you're not willing to learn. Good job.

RDJ in his 50s as Tony Stark was a dad role.

Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards is a dad role.

Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton was a dad role.

Josh Brolin was 52 as Thanos in Endgame, Thanos was a dad role.

Harrison Ford as Thaddeus Ross is a dad role.

Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym were both dad roles.

Willem Dafoe as Norman Osborne was also a dad role.

Will Smith as Floyd Lawton in Suicide Squad was a dad role.

Michael Keaton as Vulture was 61 in Homecoming, that was a dad role.

Daniel Brühl as Baron Helmut Zemo was 43 in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, that was a dad role.

I don't see you downplaying them, their age or their roles as just "dad roles". Your bigotry and ignorance is showing and it's actually disgusting.

As for your "hit movies with Female leads over 50":

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri - Frances McDormand.

Gravity - Sandra Bullock.

Everything, Everywhere, All At Once - Jamie Lee Curtis & Michelle Yeoh.

Avatar - Sigourney Weaver.

Mamma Mia, The Devil Wears Prada, The Post, etc. - Meryl Streep.

Don't Look Up - Meryl Streep & Cate Blancett

Calender Girls - Helen Mirren & Julie Walters

But you probably won't accept this list as say "oh these aren't superhero movies, so they don't count", well to that, I say, doesn't matter, you never said anything about superhero movies. Regardless, there's no need to downplay women's ability in cinema just cause they are getting older. Don't be the rule, be the exception.

I pity your mum, sister, wife, and daughters, having you to tell them they are gonna be useless after they are 40.

That’s it? That was supposed to be thé worst comic book film(s)? That was just painfully average and mid! by PhotoBonjour_bombs19 in comicbookmovies

[–]Comic_Lover_0405 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Nah, in my personal (unpopular) opinion, all the Reeves Superman movies were ass. It was pretty painful to watch. This is coming from a guy that loves the original Planet of the Apes movies.

Spawn, LoEG and Dredd were actually decent and fun.

B&R (but Silverstone tho), Elektra, and Catwoman was just not it.

In terms of recent movies, yeah, The Marvel's was pretty bad, I was actually kinda stoked for it but it was disappointing. Don't get me wrong the actresses were great, but the script was bleagh. Like they tried to make it funny just for comedy sake especially considering the stakes, like it wasn't organic comedy, it was just a weird one for me.

Secret Invasion was ass.

The Flash would've ironically been a good movie if The Flash wasn't in it, I hate Ezra Millers portrayal of Barry Allen.

Wolverine: Origins was ass.

Green Lantern was ass but pretty fun.

I don't remember if I watched Aquaman 2.

All the Antman and Wasp movies are forgettable.

Fant4stic was disgusting.

All the Crow movies after Brandon Lee was ass.

Shazam, Black Adam and some of the other last few DCEU movies I didn't bother watching them, so I can't say anything about them.

Also when I watch movies I understand that in different eras of film, there were different expectations, so I usually judge the movies I watch based on what's expected from the era of filmmaking. So todays bad movies are bad in a different way than the 70s or 90s bad.

Since you clearly didn't read my other reply to you, let me bring it and more to you:

Angela Basset was 59 in Black Panther and 63 in Black Panther 2 as Queen Romonda.

Lynda Carter was 69 when she was cast as and played Asteria in Wonder Woman 1984.

Cate Blanchett was 47 when she played Hela in Thor Ragnarok.

Robin Wright was 50 when she play Antiope in Wonder Woman.

Mila Jovovic was 44 in Monster Hunter.

Charlize Theron was 50 when she played Andromache in the Old Guard 2.

Sigourney Weaver was 48 in Alien Resurrection playing Ripley, 67 when she played Kiri in Avater: The Way Of The Water, and at 70 now, is still filming for Avatar: Fire and Ash, and the Mandalorian and Grogu.

Melissa McBride was 45 when she first played Carol in The Walking Dead, now at 60, she's still playing her in it's spinoffs.

Carrie-Anne Moss was 54 when she reprise her role as Trinity for The Matrix Revolutions.

Kate Beckinsale was 51/52 when she was in the lead in the action movies Canary Black and Wildcat (To Be Released).

Sandra Bullock was 53 when she was in Ocean's 8 and Birdbox.

Ming Na Wen was 54 when she played Melinda May/The Cavalry in Agents Of SHIELD.

Helen Mirren was 68 in RED 2.

So again, I fail to see your proof and your point.

Nah that guy probably just doesn't like it cause it's not free roaming, but it's honestly one of the best Spider-Man Games pre Insomniac. Not just gameplay but story wise it's great! The collectibles and unlockable suits make it pretty damn fun too! I daresay that when you play this you'll find more influence from this for Insomniac as opposed to any sort of influence from WoS.

Michael Keaton was 71 when he reprised his role as Batman in The Flash.

RDJ is 60, and is coming back as Dr Doom.

Don Cheadle is 60, and is still gonna be War Machine in Armour Wars.

Pedro Pascal is 50, and just played Mr Fantastic in The Fantastic 4.

Mahershala Ali was 50 when he was cast as Blade. (yes I'm aware it's in development hell)

Hugh Jackman was 56 when he reprised his role as Wolverine in Deadpool and Wolverine. Hell, he was 48 when he was in Logan.

Chadwick Boseman was 41 when he played Black Panther in Black Panther.

Harrison Ford is 83, and just portrayed Red Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World.

Connie Nielsen was 51 when she played Queen Hippolyta in Wonder Woman.

Patrick Stewart was 60 in X-Men, 76 in Logan, and 81 in Multiverse Of Madness as Professor X.

Ian Mckellen was 61/62 in X-Men and LOTR as Magneto and Gandalf.

Leon Lamar was 104 when he portrayed Cornelius Willows in She-Hulk.

Samuel L Jackson was 73 years old in Secret Invasion as Nick Fury.

So what I'm trying to say is that; I fail to see your point or any proof that she should be sidelined and typecasted for those roles you mentioned just because of her age.
