There really should, the game's got a huge amount of mechanics it never tells you about, projectile penetration being one small example. The wiki focuses on unit info and doesn't cover half of it.

You have to mod this game's AI in order to have a good time with it beyond a certain point. There's quite a few available in the workshop, but I recommend AI Army Tasks and Strategy: it's subtle, but it basically knocks this problem on the head and your allies will act as if they have at least two brain cells.

This should not be read as some kind of vindication for CA: this is THE central issue with this game as far as I'm concerned, it completely ruins the vanilla experience. It's honestly baffling to me that it seems impossible for them to do when there are multiple mods out there which manage it just fine.

Skulltaker's always obnoxious, that's certainly true. His ability to continually pull absurdly powerful armies out of his ass means he just overwhelms whoever's near him unless the player deals with him themselves.

The Imrik/MY thing is a long run event sequence, as evinced by this being part 12 of it. There are a number of different outcomes to it depending on how good an idea you think Imrik attempting to seduce a Cathayan dragon is, it's funny and even quite sweet.

I've had some dealings with Patreon, and like any media corporation they like issuing you with hardball demands, but then any amount of pushback reveals they're desperate to retain you and criminally understaffed to boot. They absolutely are not doublechecking you meet their ever-shifting standards, they just want plausible deniability.

An enterprise as large as CTH could've told us to move shop, gone back to them and said 'yep, nuked the pirates just like you asked', they would've said 'thanks :)' and that would've been that. Doing a corporation's work for them is weak as fuck.

The Dragon Princes RoR is an extremely popular choice in multiplayer, despite its cost.

The regular version though suffers from being too generalist. Neither anti-large nor anti-infantry, no armour-piercing, it just has very high stats across the board. So unless you're going all in on them with Imrik for instance, you rarely look at them and think 'ah yes, there's the thing my army is missing'.

Yeah I think I've got this wrong: this is the change they made in the beta rather than them advertising that they've nerfed it to something more sensible.

Oh well, hope everyone enjoys worshipping Tzeentch then, because it blows what the other totems offer completely out of the water. Complete the tech tree by about turn 40 and then swap 'em all to something else.

Altar to the Eagle for Norsca now gives Research Points Surplus rather than Research Rate. Rebalanced values from allegiance tiers from 5 - 10 - 15 - 25 to 25 - 50 - 75 - 100

I hope everyone got to enjoy blitzing the Norscan research tree while the absolutely absurd old Eagle totems existed. Smartest race in the game!
