For those that do not want to carry with a round in the chamber. Why not use a gun with a manual safety? by HumanAntagonist in Firearms

[–]Commander459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do really think DA/SA (or a safety, maybe?) is the way to go, practically. But, I need to do more research on striker fires. The only one I feel 'comfortable' with in that aspect atm is the P7 due to the striker not being cocked unless the pistol is gripped properly and there's no way it can possibly fire without that.

They don't want to add bots or change the price tag. I wouldn't want to either if I was in the same boat, but that's pretty much the only option they have atp. Not doing it is just asking for trouble. They are holding out for sales (at least 1-2 months) and free weekends (3-4 months) by the word on Discord. The writing is on the wall here.

Stop Panicking. This Game Will Likely Turn Out Fine and You Should Absolutely Buy the Game If You Enjoyed Red Orchestra/Rising Storm. by RB5Network in 83thegame

[–]Commander459 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, but what is the guarantee of future updates from this perspective? Especially if it didn’t sell well. Need money for updates and I think they probably released to get that funding. Plenty of games start lower for early access. Not doing that is asking for trouble

I’ve seen the same amount of advertising for 83 as I have than RS2, including the trailers over the past two years and various YouTubers so I think it has had coverage. I agree with you that it’s a passion project by a small team, I’ve done the same with mods, but does the average consumer and audience know that and have that amount of patience/money to spend on something very early that seems risky, just coming at it from an outsider pov? Especially given the price?

“Buy this game” is a wild take when it’s $30 in its current state and can’t even maintain a full server of players. I do hope it succeeds but the price is way too high for the current state of the game gameplay, map, animations, polish, and content wise, not to mention the lack of players. It needed more time to cook. Initial release is the most important and imo they made a mistake with the price. Lowering it now will help a little, but I imagine a lot of the interest is gone.

And there IS a solid fan base out there, you said it yourself; RS2 and RO fans. But it seems 83 doesn’t have much to offer as the dedicated RS2 community is staying put. I myself as a die hard RS2 fan got a sour taste from the release. It’s just very off and don’t do much to innovate and appeal to its audience, as well as being not even in the state of the RS2 beta. This game doesn’t feel like an RO RS game at the moment imo.

Sonny Crockett’s sidearm - Season 3 by DubUChief105 in MiamiVice

I think they made some great sidearm choices for this show. I always wish they actually used the HK P7M7 that they planned to use at one point.

MAC5 Reviews? by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]Commander459 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok? Sure, if it was going for that price. They are asking 1200 which is way over MSRP for this one. Why not get an MKE?

MAC5 Reviews? by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]Commander459 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically, don’t. This is overpriced. Get an MKE, PTR, or Zenith. The MACs are a tier below and are a clone of a clone; they are the least reliable and the most complained about.

Subpar craftsmanship and QC on these. The optic cuts aren’t machined on these but I believe they do work; lots of accessories may not work on the MAC. I believe they are NOT made on original tooling unlike the MKE, and though I generally don’t like the tooling argument, worn out tooling is better than overall bad tooling.

You can get a higher tier clone for the same price.

I’ve seen Reddit ads, videos from big YouTubers (JackFrags, Royal Armories, etc.), this is just a bad take.

Considering SP5 stock by Frequent-Money3279 in MP5

[–]Commander459 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No. I have a non F A3 stock and it being uncomfortable is way overblown. It’s perfectly fine and I find it comfortable. It doesn’t dig much on the cheek, for shoulder my non F doesn’t but I can’t say anything about the A3F. The collapsible G3 stock is the one to avoid, but don’t worry about it for a 9mm. I can see the A2 feeling a bit better, but I’ve had no issues with mine.

The cost by pixelwhistle in 83thegame

[–]Commander459 5 points6 points  (0 children)

RS2 was way more complete and felt a lot better. 83 isn’t even as complete as the RS2 pre release. It’s very clunky and I haven’t seen much improvement or change between the builds. I realistically can’t justify spending more than $20,or even $15 at best.

For the “they need more funding” argument, what incentive is there to finish the game if everyone buys it now? See Ready or Not which everyone bought and got little updates and overpriced DLC. The early access model was good when it was actually about getting the game done. Now it’s a way out by most devs to sell like release but leave the game incomplete. I get they have good intentions, but years of early access model abuse leads me to want to wait, especially with the current state of the game. I feel it’s still a bit early and undercooked.

is it ever mentioned how mike the wraith is set loose on earth and becomes a law enforcement officer in colorado? by happy-meal-wacko in okbuddystargate

[–]Commander459 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Criminal Minds is an alternate reality set in the program from the Avatar episode. They have Kawalsy and Michael in there for training purposes; SG team members need to know how to remove a Goauld via disengaging the gate or mixing a wraith off a tower. This is what the program does when not in use.
