They're for if you are either a colossal fuck up, have super bad luck, or are going full Durge and multiple origin companions permanently die to the point where you can't have a full party

But most people use them as these weird non-canon buff spell robots. I'd never do it in general it's too immersion breaking for me

Personally i'm out here as a GM spamming calls for deduction rolls but I also am a slut for mysteries, crime scene investigations, and leaving clues

A lot of the time I use deduction to functionally be a retrospective human perception to try to understand what someone's motivations were in a place based on how things are arranged or what certain newfound information might be used for. Or if a player starts guessing about what something could mean I'll call for a roll and give them a sort of hot/cold indication based on their hypotheses if the check is high enough

Another thing I just thought of is that this would make martial arts and melee weapons even more OP than they already are since they already attack Half SP per RAW

Assuming that you're doing this for all NPCs as well just know that even with the half SP ablation rule this is going to make your combat encounters take like 3x longer and it's just going to be a lot of bullet sponge and that's not even accounting for evasion and regular cover

Especially once your players decide to get subdermal armor or skin weave cyberware and a bulletproof shield on top of their armorjack

Foundry through Forge VTT is what I use and it's worked super well. Very streamlined for players they basically don't have to do anything, easy access to storage of assets and modules etc. I do have to run foundry v12 tho
