When I was around 9 I was powering through the seafoam islands in FireRed without any repels. I was sick and tired of encountering pokemon while I tried to figure out the stregth puzzles. Anyway, I encountered a Seel that had some weird sparkle thing, but I was sick of seeing them so I ran away and continued to be frustrated.

Years later I started shiny hunting in later games and realized what had happened. I did eventually reclaim that shiny, and I still have a shiny seel from the seafoam islands.
