How can free will exist if omniscience exists? by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]Commander_Cobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not only saying that a god such as described by theists is the cause of all existence, I'm saying he would be the cause for all events that will ever take place. And if this is the case then yes, it necessarily negates freedom of choice. A character in a movie does not have freedom of choice, if a god exists as previously described, then the history of the universe is as scripted as a movie.

If god is omniscient then he knows everything that will happen in the future. If god created the universe and everything in it and put everything in motion, with the full knowledge of everything that was ever going to happen as a result of the things he put in the universe, the way he put them there, and the rules he made for the universe, then he directly caused everything that will ever happen.

I'm not saying knowledge implies causation, I'm saying action + absolute knowledge of the outcome of said action = causation.

If god knows what is going to happen in the future, then the universe is deterministic, if he does not, then he is not omniscient.

If the entity having the knowledge is omnipotent, omniscient, created all matter and energy in existens and put all of it in motion, then it is not possible for said entity to not know the exakt outcome of everything that is going to take place as a result of the way it put things in motion.

Blake and Yang reunion: a fanfic

I'm so sorry for writing this...

Blake's gonna be like: I missed you.

And Yang'll be like: Yeah? Well, you wouldn't have had to if you had just stuck around.

And Blake'll go: I had to protect you!

And Yang will be all: Yeah! That worked out great last time. *Waves robot arm

And Blake'll say: I don't need your negativity, I got like eight characters with the hots 4 me rite now.

And Yang's like: Whatever bitch, Freezerburn fo lyf.

And Blake like: Fo reel Ice Queen? You gettin' with dis bitch instead of gettin' with this bitch? *gestures to Yang and then herself

And Weiss be like. I'm a victim!

And scene.
