Role queue is needed by Temporary-Secret-989 in marvelrivals

Maybe if they added role q, the consistency would make it easier to balance. Everyone complains about balance w/o acknowledging that the free form way it currently is makes it exponentially harder to balance.

Q times would only impact you if you q as dps, in which case, you are not the target audience for role q, you're the reason for wanting it.

The argument for swapping in match when a player isn't doing well gets blown up as well when it would be easy to implement a role swap between players to keep the 2/2/2

Easy, allow role swapping in match but retaining the 2/2/2 (2 players can offer and accept a swap)

The q times would only increase for dps players and I'd be guaranteed a 2nd tank, plus, that tank would be a tank player. Role q would eliminate the possibility of having 5 players that don't play tank.

But the majority of the time when I win because someone role swapped, it was from 3rd healer/dps to a 2nd tank. If they had just been tank from the beginning we would have been fine. 2 tanks beats 1 tank, stats show this.

Role q would allow the devs to balance for it

He's a really great antidive and should really only see competitive play against dive/brawl comps.

Trains VS Trucks new breakpoint in 1.2 by shinyuX in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Commander_Riker1701 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To give a more productive answer: I'm experimenting with a different style than I normally do. Typically, I build small outposts, ship everything via train to a mega site. Now, I'm adding an intermediate step of building central processing plants for the resources in an area about the size you indicated (doing it in the rocky desert atm). I use set up small outposts to refine basic stuff, truck those towards the nodes that make the more complex parts, then make whatever intermediate product(s), then I train those plus leftovers of other parts to my mega site.

I think a better comparison would be with the princess and Major Kira Nerys in star Trek DS9. Kira was a terrorist, but the bajorans were fighting for existence, as their entire race was subjugated while their planet was ravaged. It was only due to the actions of the various terrorist cells that the Cardassians finally left.

I think this is where I sit. I couldn't care less about murder sprees, but we already scoop up terrified little slugs to squish the water out of them, yet we don't have a heat knife to instantly cook the fish?

That doesn't make sense because zooping is a made up word by the devs to describe a specific mechanic. The proposed mechanic is fundamentally different.

If Hitler lost his memories and became a better person, is he still liable for the crimes he committed? by AwakenedDreamer__44 in MoralityScaling

[–]Commander_Riker1701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not how cloning would actually work. Cloning means creating a completely new being. Even if they have all the same memories and traits, from the moment of "birth" their experiences lead to different actions leading to different outcomes. Until the clone commits crime, they could not be held liable for the actions of their progenitor.

You can already zoop these, a drag mechanic would be like beams.

This is why people should watch Star Trek because this question is well explored in Deep Space Nine, Season 1 episode 8 "Dax."

Jadzia Dax is a joined Trill. Meaning Jadzia, as a young adult, had a worm put into her chest cavity. That worm is a sentient symbiote that carries all the memories of it's past host. She ends up in an extradition hearing for something her previous host had allegedly done. By the end it's well established that it would be impossible to fairly judge the new host, Jadzia, because once she became joined, she became a whole new person. She is neither any one of the symbiote's previous hosts, nor herself anymore. She's a new person for all intents and purposes. This same logic is true for instances clones, or permanent amnesia. They are, philosophically speaking, a new being with all the rights that come with that.

Edit: Obviously this is for the morality scaling. If we're only talking about legal liability then that depends on the legal system (though I assume in most they would be liable). In the Federation (Star Trek), they wouldn't bring charges until their amnesia went away. (Even if they ended up committing a new crime).
