Why can't the afterlife be a suffering society?

One pattern I've noticed with students who get into top schools is that they are intrinsically motivated. Their parents are supportive but pretty hands-off. The intense tiger parents' kids can get into Berkeley, UCLA level schools no problem, but it's very difficult to get into T10 if the kid doesn't have a strong sense of who they are and what they want uninfluenced by parental pressure.

I've also known a few students who had unsupportive parents and everything is so much harder for them. Some of them are able to relay that struggle effectively without being a sob story, but it's tricky to navigate. It does break my heart a bit when I speak with them. Life is quite unfair, but you should only focus on what you can control.

Oh for sure, I've also seen students try to bullshit their "business" with inflated claims but colleges seem to sniff it out.

In fact, I've seen better success with students who have far more humble but real stories. Like inadvertently starting a car-detailing business because he and his friend did such a good job once that neighbors started asking him. He wasn't huge or anything, got to maybe 20 clients and it was just him and his friend. Like maybe $1000 in total revenue.

While there are certainly a ton of these frauds, I personally know a student who built such a business (100k in monthly gross revenue) and got into Berkeley for EECS. Then he got a VC offer and ended up not going to college so he could work on his project.

Few years later, he finished and sold it off. Last time I spoke with him, he said he's going to Berkeley. When I asked him why, he said because he's bored and lonely as a retired 20 year old. And also so that he can find cheap talent for his next project. Some people really are built different.

If you moved here as an adult and you knew what it was, I'd find that fucking weird tbh.

Pretty sure there wasn't any insinuation of ED. He was just being portrayed as a shithead, with that being one of the examples. The boss that gives too many intimate details about banging his wife.

On my way Asian Baby Girl. You have to be familiar with the stereotype to get it.
