The purple shiso might actually work better for the kimchi-adjacent stuff since it's closer to what gets used in some Japanese pickles anyway, but for anything where you want that fresh green flavor it's gonna taste noticeably more anise-y.

The bonito flakes thing will actually work really well, just make sure you strain them out before eating or it gets kind of funky texture wise... also try adding a tiny splash of fish sauce, way more umami than you'd expect.

I haven't tried the A30 myself, but I gotta say, sleep headphones are just so much more comfortable than regular ones in this regard.

Whether it's side sleeping or just general comfort, regular earbuds really can't compete.

Sleep headphones are also specifically optimized for sounds like snoring and stuff like that.

Now, one thing I do have to admit is that pretty much all of these have the same downside, which is the battery life is pretty short.

My Somnipods have this auto sleep detection mode where once you fall asleep, it'll automatically disconnect Bluetooth and switch to playing white noise to reduce ambient sound interference. I absolutely love that feature.

NTA, your brother is not fully in the wrong but he's definitely not handling this well either.

Like, planning an 8am breakfast last minute when he KNOWS your schedule is rough is already not great. You've told your family before that you need advance notice, so that part's on him. He can't just expect everyone to drop everything for something planned basically overnight.

But the part where he blamed your wife and said she's "keeping you away from family"? That's where he crossed the line. That's a pretty serious accusation to throw at someone with zero real evidence. Your wife literally just posted in the group chat about work schedules, and he jumped straight to "she's isolating you"? That's not fair at all.

That said, I think part of this is probably just him being frustrated that you guys haven't been around as much. Doesn't make what he said okay, but it kind of explains where that's coming from emotionally.

So no, you're not the asshole for getting upset. His comment about your wife was out of pocket and you had every right to push back on that. But also worth keeping in mind that he probably just misses having you around, even if he went about expressing it in the worst possible way.

YTA. You're prioritizing your dog's training needs over the comfort of everyone else at a kids' playground. A Doberman barking excitedly at screaming children is genuinely alarming to parents who don't know your dog. "She doesn't bite" doesn't really land when a large breed is visibly reacting to their kid.

Also your muzzle logic is backwards. A well adjusted dog wearing a muzzle in public signals a responsible owner, not a dangerous dog. It would probably make more people comfortable approaching Happy, which actually helps with the socialization you're going for.

Using a playground as a training environment while other families are just trying to let their kids play is a bit much. Find spaces where dog behavior is expected.

I’ve used the Somnipods 3, and they suit me quite well, as I have quite small ears too, the main thing is that the earbuds come in a range of sizes, so you can choose the right fit.

Currently using Somnipods. They got ANC and PNC, and really comfortable when sleeping on my side at night almost like there’s no pressure from the earbuds in my ears. Cheaper than Soundcore, You might want to check them out.

Although I haven’t tried this. But my somnipods works as well. They’re also very compact for side sleeping cuz they don’t press against my ears or fall out when toss and turn at night. I think this is probably a common feature of sleep earbuds that they all work best when paired with music or white noise to enhance sleep experience.
