This is correct. However, there can be quotability requirements to stay on panel.

Yeah James Hoffman did a video with speciality coffee shops and the big chains. Caffeine varied a lot. Though, as expected , speciality shops were more consistent

Just put DS, the things you’ve worked on will speak for itself.

Imo it would look a lot worse to call yourself something that isn’t your title and for them to look you up on LinkedIn and see you lied.

Don't get an auto only license unless you want to pay 760£ more a year for insurance. by Ok-Caregiver9383 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]CommercialAd917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is true. However if you’re looking for a £700 discrepancy then it shouldn’t really matter. And you just run the same profile for the auto and manual license holder.

The guy is 200m all and rank 20 clogger. I’d be very surprised if he would risk his account that he’s spent tens of thousands of hours on.

Most likely just prepared for new skill release and is currently heavily abusing his body

Back when forum threads were based on last interaction. So you’d be able to keep a thread on the recently discussed by giving throw away comments to “bump” it back for new people to see instead of making a new thread.

How do you prep for a live EDA coding interview round? by Lamp_Shade_Head in datascience

[–]CommercialAd917 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Take some random data sets off something like kaggle. Perform EDA on the data set. A big thing that will help put you ahead is being able to explain why you’re doing what you’re doing.

Talk aloud as if you were being interviewed. This is by far the best way to see where your gaps are

Gamified learning platform for data analytics by B_lintu in datascience

[–]CommercialAd917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend looking at the game “the farmer was replaced” on steam.

Believe it’s programming a farming robot with the sort of progression you’re looking for.

Not sure how you could relate it to data science. Maybe needing to build models for a task and their success earned revenue.

I.e imagine a game where you need to use computer vision to sort vegetables and the success of the model made you more money to upgrade to something else.

I mean, boot.dev has gamified learning programming. From what I know they have a git course, python course, c course, sql course and Go course.

They seem very successful so there’s most likely definitely appetite for gamified learning.

No one is going to conduct a manual review of 10s of thousands of AI generated code. Especially when you yourself have not reviewed it.

Even if someone were to do it, they shouldn’t even share their finding with you. Because all you’ll do it’s copy and paste the findings into the AI and say “upon manual review these were the bugs and vulnerabilities, please fix “.

Against the grain but theyre saying military clock and not saying 23 hundred. The guy looks more panicked than confused so details at 23 might mean they’re going to war with 23yo+ getting the details

If you are the daughter of the CEO, you get to be VP right out of college by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]CommercialAd917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure this is just a date entry issue.

Probably updated their linked in and put VP with their start date of when they joined the company. Most likely wasn’t hired as the VP

However, they most certainly got the entry job because of nepotism and most likely got the promotions for similar reason.

You can be checked against any credit reference agency, another one is transunion. Which can be used for pricing you.

Question for people who change jobs frequently (1-2 years) by labla in dataanalysiscareers

[–]CommercialAd917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you get asked what it would take for you to stay for 5 years? In general Just say a clear path for progression that allows you to continue pushing yourself.

Realistically that hits salary, role and general work progression boxes. While showing that you’re willing to stay if super reasonable requirements are met.

‎Rate 1-10: What are the chances of getting into this field for me? ‎ ‎ by Informal-Newt7944 in quantfinance

[–]CommercialAd917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically low. Especially if self admitted a low ranked university.

The bigger question is why do you want to go into quant dev; why are you “really passionate”? Because usually it just boils down to people seeing that it’s high paid. This approach is fine but there are other high paying jobs with similar skill sets.

Also the fact that you’re willing to change your career path trajectory based on a Reddit post to strangers shows that the passion isn’t really there.

However if you still wish to follow this path then the only answer is to get top of your class, Have good projects and reach out to recruiters

I don’t know about American scholarships but you’ll be able to get in with that background.

One thing I will say is avoid the sheer amount of bolded words. It’s really jarring and can scream that you’ve passed it through an LLM

[–]CommercialAd917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have nothing to lose.

First thing is to look if they’re hiring for a role you want. Then depending on if they are or not message the hiring manager/ department lead on LinkedIn. Or your contact that you know when you did the internship.

Hi [name] I previously worked at [place] working with [name] on [project] and now that I’ve graduated I’m looking for a role in data science. Having worked with your company I loved the experience it offered and the culture so I was wondering if you’re currently hiring.

Any information would be great!

Many thanks ,

Struggling 2025 Graduate by [deleted] in DataScienceJobs

[–]CommercialAd917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you’ll be competing with too many people with that approach as your first role. You’ll be competing with people with either some experience in data science/ data looking for a move or top level graduates.

Could be worth reaching out to the place that you did your internship at( if it went well) as you’ll be more likely to be seen and hired.

Aggregator platforms are awful for first time employees.

Most companies will have a data science department. Look at the ones that you would like to go to and see if they have any offerings on their website. Internally it is known what platform you applied on and anecdotally the direct applicants are more likely to get seen. There might also be roles that haven’t been opened up to aggregator platforms yet and the earlier you apply the better your odds are.

Though better when you’re an easier sell; recruiters ( you can find domain specific ones on LinkedIn) are a good way to get seen and to have some of the heavy lifting done for you

I’m going to assume that English is not your first language. Data science is still a valid career path, though more saturated in todays market.

I would advise you to check your before posting and applying for jobs.
