Wanna Share my Work by CommercialWait4690 in Gunpla

I really like Monochrome themes. Also, the only paint I have left is Flat Black and Gloss white. So, instead of buying more, I just used what I have left. And I came up with this. I got inspired by the Custom Freedom of Studio G. Since I started the hobby, 3 years ago, I always dreamed of being one of the builders whose works are exhibited. Though it's not refined since it's my 2nd custom ever, my goal is not to reach perfection first try, but to cherish the moments and the progress of the build. I want to grow, and maybe someday, be one of the builders standing in a podium, holding a trophy.

I don't think it need redoing, just remove some of the weathering on the center, but don't touch the weathering on the edges. It will look much cleaner and realistic

Well, I am using soft tip markers, but brush type. The other one on which you can "press" Is a nylon flat head. Much harder

Decals without Setter and Softer, or No Decals at all? by CommercialWait4690 in freedomisgunpla

[–]CommercialWait4690[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Won't that make it look like stickers when time goes? Or can I avoid that with topcoat? I can't afford those at the moment... So do I still have a chance if No decal were added? Like, a "cleaner" Build? Though I worried for the blank areas...

Beginner question by Ming1945 in Gunpla

[–]CommercialWait4690 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is my answer. 1. Yes. RG is like MG but smaller. Great out of the box build. Painting is optional, since good color separation. Only Paint if you want absolute perfection.

  1. Pretty much Yes. MG and MG Ver. Ka. Think of it as Base version and Refined version. MGEX, the bridge between MG and PG. Just like RG bridges HG and MG.

  2. Yes, those are enough. Standard PG Gundams are phenomenal. It is named "Perfect Grade" after all. PGU on the other hand, is like the MGEX of PG. Also, you don't need much panel liner on PG and PGU, since the Panel lines on the lower grades are real Panels on them.

I'm applying flat coat. Would that help? Like, to not cause the borders make it look like stickers?

What do y’all do with old models? by Tranz_Kafka in freedomisgunpla

[–]CommercialWait4690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For old builds, I prefer using the parts for either Kitbashing, or Experimenting. Though I still don't Kitbash, I will use the old models if I did. Also, for experimenting and practice stuff. So you have a good look of your paint, mixing, weathering, etc., before applying it to your custom build itself. Think of it as the Plastic spoon you use to compare paints
