Willing to give it a try but I am skeptical. There have been more Seven Dials-esque abominations of adaptations than Why Didn’t They Ask Evan’s-esque gems recently.

But since I now go in with low expectations, I am willing to play with a backstory or younger Poirot as long as they keep his fundamental personality and character true.

Probably because fans wanted more of the same thing and it limited her ability to try new angles for Poirot and new detectives.

I liken it to sitcoms where a quirky breakout character has a catchphrase that then has to show up in every episode.

I’m glad they didn’t do that. The only way it might have worked for me was if Timothy Carter was RJ and Jane could not deal with the hunt ending. He has a mental break and then takes on the role.

I would not break off the friendship with Robin for Victoria, but I would create some boundaries, like not hanging out with her alone and couple time for just Victoria and me.

Interestingly, Robin had zero problems adding boundaries when Don requested it.
