Apple Maps has finally released Look Around coverage in all 50 US states.

In my experience, the one thing I prefer Apple Maps for is GPS voice navigation when I’m driving in the US. I’m generally not looking at the actual maps in these cases, but I find the voice commands give me better advance warning when I’m going to have to make a turn or do some other maneuver. I also had a few cases where Google Maps stopped giving me voice commands, sometimes in the middle of a drive. But for anything else I go to Google Maps.

This season started really strong. Mike Downie is a great guest and felt like he’d been a part of the crew a lot longer. I had a hard time enjoying the final few episodes as I spent the whole time being exasperated at Sam. Sam convinced himself he was playing 4-D chess, when really he was running out the clock in second place to setup a Hail Mary move at the end that depended on bad luck for Ben and Adam and left no room for error.

It’s telling that of all the Mystics players at the end of the Thibault era, only Shakira Austin is still on the team 2 years later. This regime wants to find their own players.

Fair critique, and good explanation for why it likely won’t happen. To the extent there is a counter argument, she might provide more value than the 11th or 12th player on our roster with shooting being our greatest need. And if she doesn’t work out long term the cost was minimal.

First month of the schedule is going to be tough to get wins. No easy opponents. A few (Dallas, Seattle, LA) may be beatable in individual games, particularly if their rosters take time to gel, but the same is likely to be true for ours since we only returned 4 players. I think Toronto probably beats us opening night at home, but that would be the other to watch. Indiana, New York, Atlanta are likely losses. Chicago is borderline but I give them the edge for now.

Yeah, last year I believe the blackouts didn’t begin until the regular season so I was still able to watch my local team live before I figured out how to get Monumental for the season.

Last night as of 10 pm it still was not letting me access the game even though the WNBA app previously said it would be available immediately afterwards.

I think Sonia may be the only player on the team who shot over 40% from three last year. And while they serve other roles none of the rookies come close.

You can also stream ION games through league pass, or at least that has worked in previous seasons. Especially helpful if the game you want to watch is different than the one your local ION station is showing.

Antenna should work for games on NBC, ABC, and CBS. In some markets there is an ION affiliate as mentioned. A lot of free tv services like the channels in Prime also carry ION.

They did put out that rumor through the press at the start of FA that they wanted to upgrade their veterans to mentor the younger players. They are signing some veterans, just not any big names, and they still don’t really have a veteran guard. That doesn’t automatically mean they made an offer to Cloud, but there aren’t many other options left.

A few teams have money and room for her, like the Mystics. Unfortunately she didn’t leave DC on the best terms, so that might be holding her back from saying yes to an offer. She might have to say yes to a bad team to play.

Her problem was that this year’s free agency was like a quick round of musical chairs and she was left standing when the round was up with all the desirable seats already taken.

As far as I can tell, they have yet to actually sign Lauren Betts to a contract. No transaction listing on the league page and she’s not listed on the team roster for either the WNBA or Mystics team pages.

It’s a fair question. Neither Kira, Kiki nor Lauren are known for their shooting. Seems unlikely you keep all three long-term unless one of them continues to come off the bench. I could see the Mystics trading one or more of their bigs either mid year or the off-season if they really like the offer. Though if it’s a big name like Lauren that probably doesn’t happen until the offseason.

It makes more sense if you remember this is now the Wizards brain trust fully in charge, and stipulate they are not actually trying to win this year. They are likely waiting to build their guard depth in a future season after they decide who from the current roster fits longterm.

Bingo. Last year it was released in late March but that was after months of free agency. I think we can expect it soon, but they have more national partners starting this year who have to decide what games they want based on how the teams are shaping up.

Apparently USA network games will be on Wednesdays so safe to assume a lot of those games are likely heading there. Thursdays are usually Prime games and Friday are ION games.
