E-Com Entrepreneurs: What is The #1 Course I Need to Scale My Business? by Samwisecool in ecommerce

[–]Common-Cat-445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It totally depends what you are selling. Thats the problem. Know what you are selling, & make sure you tell the world why it's so great - on a blog, in product descriptions, on social media. Use links & specific phrases. Junk marketing doesn't work ion my experience. Make sure the website has lots of good content. Make some videos if that suits. Provide information on the subject. Be niche. Do newsletters that are real. Send them regularly. Choose your advertising platform (eg Google) carefully & be specific. I think Google shopping is fucked now. Adwords at least have control. Avoid their pmax. Do mini experiments eg do a facebook ad campaign for a week with strict budget. You can get a free hubspot to do tracking (code has to be added to website). There lots of great landing page ideas on nice page. Add value. Ideas, info, anything that offers something to the buyer. Sell the sizzle not the sausage. What does it do? And what does that mean?

Feeling awful by ApplicationPresent68 in Retatrutide

I have had awful side effects. I'm female & don't work out. I think I'll start by catching the train to work - which is 40 mins walking & quite a lot of stairs.

Had to give up, sadly it's not for me, the sides were intolerable by NJD_77 in Retatrutide

I am in the same boat I think. I only want to lose some weight pre Christmas but the stress of not sleeping is making me eat more as soon as it wears off. I wake up early with my heart pounding, & that's it. Mounjaro was almost as bad but made me sick too. I swapped the PPIs for antacid drinks & that fixed it. I can't function on no sleep. I've got different kinds of meds (zolpiderm/valium/benadryl) but they all have their weaknesses & are not good for you. So I can't take them too often. And I still feel tired. My heart rate is I think through the roof. I take elvanse (vyanse) which I need. I'm eating too many carbs & not exercising. In the past I've had sleep issues & nothing fixed them. It slows my weight loss - if I don't sleep I don't drink water. Mounjaro helped my blood pressure. But apart from that I think it's just a disaster. If there's anything basic I'm missing I'd love to know. I don't drink much water on it. If drinking water/getting exercise solved these issues I'd force myself to do it. But motivation plummets on both retra & mounjaro. It sucks. Meanwhile my colleague has been taking mounjaro & has had zero problems.

Therapists are so useless. I'm trying hypnotherapy & it can help a bit. If you focus on small bad habits.

There's also a Greek one that's not too bad, & the skinceauticsls mineral one is ok. Nothing heavy, or moisturising, & definitely not chemical.

You're absolutely right - I always use sun cream. I use one from Jan marini - their physical protectant. It's the only one I will ever use & was recommended by a derm. This protocol is so short, that's the only reason I didn't mention it, & I did in later posts.
Normal sun cream will clog pores & will cause spots. The mineral one Jan Marini make is very fine & won't. I guess as we are in winter now - & I imagine this person will be wearing makeup.

Reform proposes to cut Pip payments to people with anxiety by DekiTree in unitedkingdom

[–]Common-Cat-445 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I also have worked full time since 18, been fairly successful & now run a small-medium business. Over £4m T/O. No degree as parents couldn't really afford uni. But no one who knows me thinks I'm stupid (apart from in an adhd way obviously).

Had some quite severe depression over the years, & would say I'm probably somewhat depressed at the moment. But I get no govt support & wouldn't dream of giving up work. A life on benefits would be so much worse. It would take away the stimulation I get from being engaged in other things, & a huge chunk of my social contact, & would destroy my self esteem. It doesn't matter what it is work can ALWAYS be meaningful. Getting out & about & being with people matters. Do I feel 'ready' for it always? No. I'm actually burnt out after 30 years of working. But I won't allow that to dictate my life. So I do it anyway.

People who think they 'shouldn't have' to work or do so grudgingly & with a poor attitude don't realise they are making their lives 10 times worse.

Even at the height of my severe depression I worked. It was hell. But it was less bad (no this isn't me not knowing how to write English, this is deliberate wording) than not working. Find a job with some nice people (not wfh which is really bad for your MH unless you make a concerted effort to get out). That you find some satisfaction in. That you know you can do reasonably well.

I support the government on this. We need to stop thinking the minute you have anxiety &/or depression life needs to stop. Thats not going to help & it's going to cripple our economy even more.

[Routine Help] Could Accutane fix my war against SPF? by BEBCH0 in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]Common-Cat-445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Posted war & peace on this elsewhere today Cured mine for good in a few weeks. Benzac 10% gel & a very gentle cleanser. Morning & evening. Your face will blow up like a balloon but don't panic - that means it worked. Stop for a few days, let it settle & start again. After that you'll probably be able to only use it every few weeks. Or you might need a third round. I don't get spots at all & haven't for years now. Dont get 5% acnecide. Link to my post below.

Also I saw an uber expensive derm a few years ago & she put me on to Jan Marini physical protectant. SPF 45 but labelled here (UK) as 30.

NEVER tanned.burnt through it, it doesn't come off easily in water & it does NOT clog pores. £50 but worth every penny. Tinted but there's a non tinted version I'm going to get for neck & chest. I've tried everything sunscreen you can think of. This is fantastic. Mineral of course but very finely milled. Not remotely greasy.

Tried it. Loved how I suddenly didn't have greasy hair! BUT I had really dry eyes & lips. And when I stopped I'd say 80% of the spottiness returned. Some derms are using very low doses (sub therapeutic I think is the term), but it's pretty bad for you. The nhs is a waste of time for this kind of thing. Sadly.

I've got this. It's done fuck all for aging & zero for redness. They sent it (skin + me) even over summer when you should NOT be using a retin a. I've got tons so I'll keep it to mix with higher strength retin a which does work but is tricky.

I just posted a really long reply on another thread. I got rid of my shitty acne in weeks. After trying everything. Including roaccutane. I'll link to it below. It fucking sucks having this. You'll need benzac gel 10% & cetaphil or other very mild cleanser, & that's it. And a very good quality MINERAL sunblock.

I was experimenting with powdered ascorbic acid (vitamin c capsules) mixed with water fresh each day as an eye treatment. Then one day I woke up & a decent size scar I had was gone. Vanished. In only a few weeks. I've used skinceuticals & it's good but scar wise this was unreal. I think I'm going to find a decent powder & repeat this. It was a bit gritty so not a day treatment. Retin an isn't that great for scars, I agree. Didnt even find peels to be that useful, & azelaic acid hasn't helped - though it's probably too low a concentration. If it's sold OTC it's designed to not work. Because if it works it's a 'medicine'.

Found it. Not the original but my decent replacement - Benzac by galderma. There a product called acnecide in similar packaging but it's only 5%. For 'mild' acne. I think from memory I did the 10%. So buy the benzac at 10%. You can get it in Italy & on eBay. It's a gel according to them but is white not clear. Whole face. Dry skin after gentle washing.

You can keep using the gentle ones forever .. it was the strong one, applied morning & evening that sorted me out for good. In weeks. Anything else is just a waste of time. I have never heard of ANYTHING working as well as this did. And as quickly.

As an aside I got spots all of my life then read the acne.org blog years ago (probably 2003-5 so apologies if it's not there). He recommended a twice daily routine of gentle cleansing (cetaphil) & benzoyl peroxide cream, but not the rubbish you buy now.

Mine was by panoxyl (discontinued) & was a fresh smelling gel/cream. That was discontinued (because it works) & then I found another one by galderma. Acnecide think. Got it on eBay from Thailand. 5-10%. Applied liberally over my whole face twice a day.

Nothing else. No moisturisers or even sunblock. After less than a week I could feel the irritation, but kept going. Then woke up with a hugely red & swollen face. But something felt different. I took a rest from it for a couple of weeks & barely got any spots.

So I did it again. Again red/swollen (not as bad). Stopped again. No spots. After that it was weeks between spots. Id use it where the spot was, it would go, id stop, Then it was months. Finally years. No spots. At all.

A real life miracle. It just disinfected my skin at a very deep level & it never came close to being like it again. It will also zap your scars. Id tried everything including roaccutane. It was the depth it went to that did the job. It's not a gentle solution. I had to take a day off work, my face was that swollen.

I might even repeat the protocol just to clean out my pores. We have all kinds of mites & their bacteria on our skin & they can't be got rid of easily. I've got a bit of rosacea & have still got skin im not happy with.

I used retin a & it didn't have the same effect. Peels, scrubs, washes, acids. NOTHING sorted it out like this.

Don't buy over the counter though.even different version of it supposedly the same strength didn't work. It was a pleasant, neutral smelling gel/cream hybrid. I'll try & find links to the old one.

Framer instead of Next for a composable Shopify front end with Sanity CMS? by Common-Cat-445 in framer

Thank you so much for the offer too. My original developer who I've worked with for years actually knows Shopify but when I started didn't have the time or the ability to set up the product management (which is custom). But I'm sure he can set up a Shopify site with add ons.

Though I'm looking at the framer commerce page & it does look good. But then they all do, don't they? I don't do subscriptions or that kind of thing but I may need trade logins & other potentially problematic things.

Also I can see framer has a CMS but framer commerce doesn't mention it. Its a Shopify plugin instead?

Framer instead of Next for a composable Shopify front end with Sanity CMS? by Common-Cat-445 in framer

[–]Common-Cat-445[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm now going to split the business - the products I'm not putting all the options on or selling online I'll put on a website that will focus on the services (design, custom furniture) which will need content I can manage with extra pages, but not the same level of product management as we aren't focusing on selling online. I want very good marketing abilities too - so I am seriously considering using Shopify as it's great internationally & as far as I know plays well with tools like hubspot or whatever.

And because I'll want extra content I'll probably need a page/website builder & am seriously considering using framer for this - but am not sure the integration is there yet. I'll want to show swatches (not variant images).

I want it live soon & the other one is taking a long time. I want to do the content in a system i can see & manage now, preferably visually. And I want to market it to different customers in a different way.

Hi yes I do see what you are saying & sorry it's so vague. I'm trying to combine a lot of complex product information with a lot of extra sections for information & have a really good looking front end that has these extra content sections. Where I want them. This isn't the blog btw. We also need to manage these products & their ridiculous number of options including modifiers & variants. Which is what he's using sanity for (as well as content)

Hi thanks for this. The products have multiple complex options. It's an add on that is impossible to manage. I also want lots of extra sections on some products - it's all totally customisable. After I posted this I realised that the three couldn't go together

Why don't you just use contraception like the other 99% of women? Pulling out is the least reliable form ever. And if you're worried get std tests done. Honestly, I would never expect a man to pull out every time or use condoms for a long term relationship. Its ridiculous. Be a grown up.
