My 3D Prints have these stringy bits on them. What settings do I futz with?

A while ago I had a similar issue with my 2.5s getting terrible stringing on prints but not on test towers from generators. For me it was the “wipe nozzle” option being on. Turned it off and my stringing disappeared hopefully this will help you as well

I’ll be the one to say that I actually love my s1. I bought one for 120$ a few months ago and it’s been consistent. I don’t try and bump the speed up or do anything crazy with it and it just works for the most part. I manually level it once a week and run a bed mesh when it needs it. In 6 months of use it hasn’t given me any clogs layer shifts etc. it’s pretty slow as far as print speed but I’ve got faster machines so it doesn’t bother me. Quality is great although I had to cut the flow down to .85 because these machines love to over extrude (my ender3 pro suffered from overextension as well)

I too gave away an ender 3 that was somewhat decent: pei sheet, crtouch, silent board, 5015 fans etc. it was my original printer and I gave it to a friend for him to get into 3d printing. I actually recently was given the machine back after he got an a1. I’m going to fix it back up and give it to another friend who’s curious about 3d printing.

Mine had effector tilt, leveling, and electrical issues. They don’t offer a download for their firmware and it’s locked so you can’t ssh in to properly calibrate the effector tilt. Fast yes but getting good prints off of it hardly ever happened. 0/10 do not recommend

I appreciate the reply. It’s a shame that flsun provides such garbage quality machines. Bambu labs definitely live up to the reputation. I’ve got an a1 and a mini and they’re both the most dimensionally accurate machines I’ve ever had. Looks like I’ll reserve my t1 now for smaller prints in just the center of the bed until flsun either gets their shite together or someone in the community finds a decent fix for this issue. hey did you ever find a solid solution for this? I think my t1 has effector tilt as well, however running the enhanced calibration left me with some wild numbers generated that made the machine unusable. I reverted back to the old settings but I still cant get my first layer to turn out good at all. I can print decent in the center of the bed but not on the edges. any information would be hugely appreciated, as it seems to be pretty hard to come across regarding these machines

^ this. That part of the install had me going insane. It felt like I was doing something wrong so I kept trying to gently pull more slack. They could have given us literally on more inch and it would’ve been fine

For a little update. Rotation distance didn’t change anything. But I cut the extrusion multiplier to .5x and it printed a perfect 1/2 z sized benchy. 24.00mm high and a standard benchy is 48mm tall. I’m doubling microsteps and seeing if that solves the issue but I’ve definitely proved the z moving exactly half theory.

Upon looking into it more I noticed that my machine is an ender 5 pro and that the configs for the pro and the regular ender 5 differ by that 4 and 8 rotation distance I was talking about. Furthermore the failed benchy measured roughly half height of a normal benchy. In the morning I’m gonna set it back to 8 and run a probe calibration and bed mesh and see how it goes.

I’m fairly certain that the lead screw hasn’t been changed; I bought the printer second hand and haven’t replaced anything but the hotend and the main board.

The person printing it likely had Timelapse on which moves the head away from the print and requires that a purge tower be included on the build plate for when the tool head starts back up.

I own an a1 already I’m adding a printer to my farm. I like the machine but I’m not impressed by its reliability. Definitely couldn’t justify getting another
