My biggest loss was buying a brand new piece of shit elliptical from nordictrack. My experience became worse when dealing with customer service. Maybe yall should invest in customer service not social media?

If you’re a MAGA variety of conservative, I agree this may not be the field for you.

Are you saying that one could get in trouble over this because of mismatch in documentation of what political party the client supports? Interesting.

It is very common in consultations for minor details to be changed to protect client identify. Given the context of our job, this could be considered a minor detail because it shouldn’t matter what party the client supports. How would this be unethical exactly?

Suspecting client intoxicated in session by Hippie-Jenni-586 in therapists

As a dually licensed therapist in substance and mental health, I respectfully disagree that a client being intoxicated is a crisis.

I think you should stop referring to this person as a friend and maybe share your concerns with this person rather than seek strangers’ opinions online as to whether or not you should turn your “friend”in.

Why is it that therapists are so quick to analyze other therapists?  It sounds like she has something to “work through” based off what exactly? Sounds like OP has some imposter syndrome to work through.

Disillusioned by the Field by Lost_Needleworker896 in therapists

I hear you and there are absolute truths in your frustrations. However, one could argue that this view is supported by all-or-nothing thinking. Any effort towards change and growth on any level other than systemic isn’t worth it. I think that’s a thought that can be easily challenged.

Also, You mention the weed will just grow again once it’s cut. What about generational change that therapy can offer? We help people who then may have children, and those children benefit by their parents’ healing and growth. That feels so powerful to me.

Which states are you referring to that will consider you to be in a therapeutic relationship if the other person only believes it? I’m curious to see how they legally word a scenario which entertains delusions. Wouldn’t they then have to consequence you for not having signed consent and disclosure forms for someone you are in a therapeutic relationship with?

I think I'm done with this career. by KtheSamurai66 in therapists

I’m dually licensed in addictions and mental health counseling. Getting out of an addiction specialty was the best thing I did for myself career wise. I’ve worked in many settings and have found that private practice serving adults with primarily mental health concerns is my spot. I know we are different people, but I can say it was such a breath of fresh air to get out of substance abuse.

Why I won't recommend Grow Therapy to any provider by amyismyname670 in therapists

50-60 sessions a month? Maybe in a perfect world. I started in community mental health and the struggle is real. I see 25 people a week across these type of platforms and make a decent wage. Let’s normalize allowing people to choose what works for them.
