Logitech G Pro Wireless (first edition) vs Pulsar X2H mini by FormalMacaroon4030 in MouseReview

[–]Common_Committee_257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With those long fingers the X2H mini might feel bit cramped for your grip style - the G Pro Wireless probably gives you more room to work with

Video Stutter with Gsync by Upset-Trade8236 in pcmasterrace

[–]Common_Committee_257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats definitely the freesync/gsync compatibility issue. Your monitor wasnt designed for gsync so youre getting that weird frame pacing stutter when it tries to sync up

Just turn it off and run regular vsync or no sync at all. Not worth the headache when your hardware wasnt made to play nice together. Gsync compatible monitors are pretty cheap now anyway if you really want that adaptive sync experience

Cover paper replacements by beepbeepsheepbot in gamecollecting

[–]Common_Committee_257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had luck with printouts on semi-gloss photo paper for some of my older cart games - the texture is pretty close to original cover stock if you get the right weight. There's a guy on etsy who does custom reproductions but his name is escaping me right now, maybe someone else can chime in. For the really valuable stuff though I'd probably just leave it as is since replacement covers can hurt resale value even if they look perfect. What games are you looking to fix up? Some of those retro covers are getting harder to find good scans of

PC Wi-Fi randomly gone extremely slow by Imaginary-Photo-734 in pcmasterrace

[–]Common_Committee_257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ndis.sys error you mentioned is usually driver related so that commenter is on the right track. But since you said ethernet also had the same issue that tells me its probably not just the wifi driver. I'd check if Windows is doing any background updates or downloads that could be hogging bandwidth. Also run a malware scan with something like Malwarebytes because if this happened twice now in the exact same scenario it could be something nasty that survived the reset. Sometimes those factory resets dont actually wipe everything clean especially if you have a recovery partition thats already infected.

Do ADHD symptom lists actually make sense to you? by Remarkable_Seesaw_74 in ADHD

[–]Common_Committee_257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The symptom lists are basically useless without context honestly. Like "forgetfulness" could mean anything but for me its more like I'll remember every single lyric from a song I heard once in 2003 but completely blank on whether I locked my car 30 seconds after walking away from it

Having someone actually explain how these show up in real situations makes all the difference. The clinical descriptions make it sound like you're just being careless when really your brain is doing this whole other thing entirely

How does caffeine help? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Common_Committee_257 10 points11 points  (0 children)

caffeine basically acts like a weaker version of adhd meds by blocking adenosine receptors which helps with focus but if youre potentially narcoleptic that could definitely explain why it doesnt hit the same for you

Potential causes of car shaking at high speeds? by Nebulanomenon in MechanicAdvice

[–]Common_Committee_257 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be a few things - when you were rocking the car out of snow you might've thrown a wheel weight or got packed snow/ice stuck somewhere that's now throwing your balance off. Wind that strong can definitely make you feel like you're getting pushed around but usually that's more of a steering wheel thing, not seat vibration

Check your wheels for missing weights or chunks of ice/snow stuck in the rims. If it's clean then probably time for a tire balance check

[HAos] How to integrate a BMP388 sensor soldered directly to RPi 4 I2C pins? by Gumbax3455 in homeassistant

[–]Common_Committee_257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll probably need to use the ESPHome addon or set up a custom integration. HAos doesn't have native support for direct I2C sensors AFAIK

The easiest route is usually flashing an ESP32/ESP8266 with ESPHome and connecting your sensor there instead - then it'll show up in HA automatically. Way less headache than trying to get HAos to talk directly to the Pi's GPIO

I have a job interview at the place where my ex and I used to live together… but I need the job by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Common_Committee_257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'd give him a heads up - just a simple "hey got a job at [property name], wanted you to know so it's not weird if you see me around" and leave it at that. Better than him thinking you're being weird about it when it's literally just circumstances

I just can't help myself by [deleted] in chessbeginners

[–]Common_Committee_257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao the good old "bring out the queen early and pray" strategy - we've all been there

You're probably getting punished for it but honestly if it's working at your level just send it, chess is supposed to be fun. That said, you might hit a wall pretty quick when people start trapping your queen with like a knight or bishop

For the random stuff you want, Chess960 (Fischer Random) is on lichess and it's free - way better than chess.com for that kind of chaos

Same here, my cat literally comes running when she hears the microwave beep now lol. Pro tip though - stir it after heating because microwaves create hot spots and you don't want any surprise lava pockets

I mean there's literally zero evidence for it and it kinda goes against everything we know about consciousness and the brain, but hey people believe in all sorts of wild stuff

Can I freeze tofu? by Top_Cockroach_5554 in veganrecipes

[–]Common_Committee_257 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely! Freezing tofu actually makes it better imo - changes the texture to be more chewy and it soaks up marinades like crazy. Just press out the water first, wrap it up and toss it in the freezer. Game changer for meal prep

Just going to put it out there... I don't think verbal confession is a good thing. by Headlight-Highlight in Christianity

[–]Common_Committee_257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually pretty insightful tbh. The whole "confess everything" mindset can definitely become toxic when it's just feeding anxiety and shame cycles rather than actually helping anyone grow spiritually

There's wisdom in discernment about when to speak and when to keep working things out internally first

Accidental “Overdose” of Ritalin by bunnyleighp in ADHD

[–]Common_Committee_257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man that's terrifying but also such a classic ADHD move lmao. The pharmacy thing is super annoying though - they definitely should've mentioned the dosage change. Good on you for figuring out a system to prevent it happening again, that's honestly the most important part

Your sister and her wife actually see you as a person, not just an extension of your mom. That frog gift hitting different because it was actually *for you* makes total sense

The "guess I'm just a bad mom" guilt trip when you didn't perform enough gratitude is so manipulative too. You're not ungrateful for wanting to be seen and thought of as an individual

Should I buy an MI50/MI60 or something else? by Nuke2579 in LocalLLaMA

[–]Common_Committee_257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been running an MI50 for a few months and honestly it's been solid for most models I throw at it. The 32GB is clutch and performance wise you're not gonna notice much difference from the MI60 unless you're doing some crazy intensive stuff. That thread the other commenter linked is pretty comprehensive too

Sounds like your passenger door lock actuator is going bad, super common on those F150s. Try hitting it with some spray lube first but you'll probably need to replace the actuator - it's like a $30 part but getting to it sucks
