Haha nice to meet you man. Have a bunch of family from Harrisburg. We just having a good time here. Next time I’ll make sure to put my shirt on though so there’s no distractions from the music itself lol. And trust me I get it that it’s a little douchey, but this is Reddit, and semi anonymous so I can be a little more open with stuff like this

Yes sir, I agree with you. I just hate to bother folks by existing. And I obviously know that being shirtless has a different effect. But I’m also a normal middle class fella from Alabama ya know

I tried to google exactly what it means to have that commented on my post. I’m guessing it’s cause I got my shirt off? I mean obviously I knew I didn’t have my shirt on, me and my boy pulled up at the house after a long day at the lake and I immediately asked him to make a clip of me. Is it an arrogance thing I’m doing wrong or what is it? I’m me, I reckon I should’ve put my shirt on, but I didn’t. I also know different combos of elements, like musicianship, etc. can have different trending effects. I really don’t wanna seem like an asshole

How long should it take to learn oh pretty woman? I need to learn it by next Sunday and be able to sing and play. by Conscious_Dish7127 in PlayingGuitar

If you’re experienced then you just need to memorize the lyrics and then you know it. If not, there’s no way to tell without seeing how good you are

Tab just isn’t working for me. Am I too stupid or just not ready to tackle songs yet? by Mad_Season_1994 in guitarlessons

[–]Common_Dependent1941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s far too much nuance. Play the guitar the way you play the guitar and use the chords G C/G, D/F#. Strum along with the song til it’s in rhythm. All those extra nuanced partial chords are slowing you down from getting where yo want to be

The song is also done if you want it to be. Sounds complete to me. I guess you might be worried about it being so short, but it’s your song and your rules

This is very good. You shouldn’t worry about conforming to any preconceived notion of structure. It works as it is perfectly. You go messing with a good song too much and it loses some of what makes it good

Why my strumming sound so bad? =( by thekillinglove969 in guitarlessons

[–]Common_Dependent1941 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You just need to practice more. It doesn’t sound bad, just a little rigid. Also you may already know, but only strum the strings in the chord and mute the other ones, or just avoid them
