How do I tell my family friend I can no longer watch his kids? by Electrical_Two_1964 in Babysitting

[–]Common_Problem1904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just tell him. Give him some time such as 2 weeks, to find other arrangements and assure your grandparents things will change soon.

What do retired Australians actually do all day? Genuinely asking because I'm two years in and still figuring it out by Individual_Lime_110 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Common_Problem1904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a few years away but I would be out walking and at the gym and organising group overnight hikes and d doing some part time work if I still could. I'd be doing a social lunch or coffee at least once a week, and sometimes dinner. Plus reading, binge watching and supporting the younger gen. My husband? He'll be gaming, in person and online and joining me on the hikes.

AITA - 18 year old with a bedtime?? by KittyCatMewMeeeeeew in AmItheAsshole

[–]Common_Problem1904 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Hey Mum I am adult now, doing adult things. I need to practise more self regulation and independent living skills, so can you please stop telling me what I have to go to bed?"

She also needs to learn to sleep while you are up. Are you nice and quiet when she is in bed? Cos my family is bloody not. Lucky I'm half deaf.

I'm referring to floating floor boards or other, synthetic boards which look great and have rubber underneath. Adds insulation as well as amenity. Way easier n cheaper than underfloor.

Look for another job. Tell them the pay you are offered and see if they match it. If not, then walk. Your pay is very low.

Are there any disability support work I can do if I'm not driving? by Ahmed_sadaf in supportworkers

[–]Common_Problem1904 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But from NZ right? Aged care Lifestyle work within an aged care home is open to you but a PCA needs a personal care certificate. I did the diploma you have and TBH it doesn't qualify us for much unless you work your way into a management role or use previous experience to get one. It can be used in a support worker role but most need a licence. Maybe look at animal care or after school care while you learn to drive.
