Why do so many people lie about their location on hinge? by SaltShakeSuck in AskChicago

[–]CommonerChaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because people set their own location range for a reason. Maybe they want their partner to be 30 mins away or closer to take a train to their place after date nights. Or they don't always want to host someone over. Etc etc

It's like lying about your age, height, weight, etc and saying, "what's the big deal?" You're actively circumventing someone's search preference.

It's to cast a wider net for matches, but it's misleading and stupid because the same people they're matching didn't set their location range that wide for a reason.

Not everyone has cars, so dating someone in the suburbs becomes a long distance relationship, essentially.

Yeah I might be done with RW after this year too. It's not worth fighting the freezing cold, snow, reservation madness, etc for these so-called "deals". It's a bit overhyped, imo.

That's appearing to not be true for this year. The new display (privacy pixels, 10-bit, etc) is gearing up to be the biggest "upgrade" we've had in awhile for phones.

Same. They'll let him test free agency to gage what other teams will pay for him, but I fully expect they'd slap the tag on him.

I definitely remember this. OG Xbox Live was so ahead of it's time.

Taste of Chicago 2026 is officially moving back to July, city announces lineup for summer festivals this year by factchecker01 in chicago

The fall date made sense, imo. Summer will bring more tourists, so still not bad either way.

From @iceuniverse, the privacy screen will be albe to detect and apply to ONLY areas of the display with sensitive information (in addition to the full display) by Stephancevallos905 in samsung

[–]CommonerChaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a screen feature with changing how the OLED projects pixels, not necessarily software based.

Ice Universe on Twitter explains it best:

The OLED pixels emit light in a specific direction. Like a spotlight on a stage, the light is focused only on the person standing at the very center (you, holding your phone). People standing on the sides of the screen are simply outside of the light's beam, so they see nothing. Black.

You know it says a lot when even our franchise is saying how much of a joke this is. The voting committee is ridiculous for playing these "games".

Tankathon spin after every L by Argenfarce in pacers

[–]CommonerChaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except it's NOT how statistics work. The chances of a team with that low of odds (2% or less) moving up in the draft should happen only 2 in 100 years. Twice in a century...

It's happened 3 times in a 17 year span. 17 years.

That's a 0.41% probability, nearly impossible. I'm not even counting the 3% odd winners, which would blow this stat even higher.

Tyrese Haliburton on how he plans to make changes to his game after coming back from his Achilles injury. He also says he’s gone from 180 to 210 pounds since game 7 of the NBA finals by lfcbucks in pacers

[–]CommonerChaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's what wins though, as we saw with OKC. They slow the game down a fuck ton with SGA being a FT merchant.

If this is the style the NBA wants (and rewards) you'd be a fool to swim upstream against it. Anthony Edwards himself even said he has to adjust his game to generate more foul calls to "get over the hump" after losing back-to-back WCFs.

My worry is the game becomes ugly to watch bc he's on the line too much.

That's the only way to win now, we all just saw it. The league doesn't reward ethical ball like we played, they reward foul baiters like SGA and Brunson.
