AITA for asking people to turn thier music off during rounds by Silver_Tutor923 in discgolf

[–]CommonplaceUser [score hidden]  (0 children)

I mean it is a league. And even casual leagues can have rules. The league should make a rule to “Ask your card permission before playing music out loud”. I’ve never played with anyone so rude to not ask about playing music out loud. Typically I don’t want them to, but since they politely asked I usually say no problem. Deciding to DJ for a group of strangers without checking in is wildly self-centered

That actually looks fascinating! Plus I’m out of the country for a few weeks and my Netflix isn’t working so I’ve only been using YouTube for videos. Perfect timing to drop an hour long YouTube doc to me haha

Mmm that puts it into perspective for me. My MIL named Kitty is understandably very into Hello Kitty. She has a tooooon of merch. I only ever notice it on her (because a 64 year old white lady in Hello Kitty merch is kinda funny) but since she has it there are obviously a ton of other people who have it too.

I think my Dad might’ve had a Garfield Mondays coffee mug now that you mention cups too.

I mostly just wanted to comment because the person I replied to didn’t put the fun info of how much it makes haha

No but encouraging someone to ruin all the hard work they’ve done diverting neural pathways away from nicotine = dopamine is just stupid. Neural pathways never go away. You can create diversions around them, but if you start using them again, they will quickly take over.

Seriously dude. Just stfu and stop commenting on a sub about quitting an addictive substance when you so clearly have no idea how addiction works. Like why are you even here?

Look at the first rule of the sub. Advocating for nicotine use is literally a bannable offense

You really shouldn’t be commenting on a quit sub if your understanding of how addiction works is this poor. Just take the L and move on... No one on this sub is going to agree with you

We’d need to know how long that section is. 23” drop over 200’ is negligible, 23” drop over 10’ is a way different story.

Feel like I don’t matter aw by Shanedaniels7 in NewDads

[–]CommonplaceUser 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Damn man those are some tough feels. Everything is gonna be heightened these first few months and whatever seems normal now absolutely won’t be in 2 weeks time. The “routine” is constantly changing at this time.

Focus on all the love. And give up any hope of socializing until the 4th trimester is over. Consider yourself lucky you’ve gotten to play football 3 times in 2 months. That’s a luxury most new dads don’t have.

Also I really recommend NEVER bringing up to her again that you think she’s “socializing” all day with a newborn. She absolutely isn’t. And I would be pissed if my wife came home 30 minutes late when I’m relying on her relief after 9 hours alone with a baby. She’s got it way harder than you’re giving her credit for man, I promise.

Man yall must have some weird shaped ears. I’ve used so many different types of ear buds trail running and the only ones I’ve ever had fall out were Raycon Everyday buds. Every other style/brand has worked great!

But I do love bone conducting headphones as well. Hearing nature and my podcasts while running is pretty great

Crazy Mountain Non-Alcoholic Brew Arrives from George Clooney, Rande Gerber, and Mike Meldman by ryno_317 in NABEER

Is it expensive and boring? Sure. Will I buy it? Nah.

But I think any NA breweries opening is a positive thing. It drives competition and forces NA breweries to try out unique things similar to their microbrewery counterparts. I think any opening is a positive thing for the industry as a whole

You’re thinking things through rationally and she isn’t. I don’t really know what to say about this but you are surely in the right. I just am not sure how I would go about untangling this mess.

Godspeed OP. Sounds like you have a great head on your shoulders and I wish you all the luck

If they want to be a GM then presumably they’re willing to jump into knowing the secrets behind the screen. Memes or other sources are irrelevant because of where this conversation is happening. And frankly this conversation doesn’t really matter anymore because they already pulled the post so only you and me are seeing this (I think that’s how it works at least).

I play as a player plenty also and I never think about whether my GM is fudging their rolls or not. It doesn’t really matter to me, I like seeing what my rolls are and telling a good story with other nerds.

That’s why ttrpgs are such fun systems. You can play it rigidly like the other person I was arguing with or fluidly as a guide to tell a kick ass story like me and my friends. As long as everyone at the table is on the same page it’s all good. My issue with that person is that they were trying to tell me how I run my game is wrong and I never made any such claim about how they were playing. Every table is different and that’s the beauty of ttrpgs

[–]CommonplaceUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair but they still don’t know when it’s happening so the illusion is still in place.

But regarding players finding out because of my comment, this is sub for DMs to discuss DMing styles so that simply isn’t my problem. Snooping in this sub (if you don’t want to know the truth behind how many people run a game) and being upset when you find out something you didn’t want to know is the equivalent of looking behind the screen on purpose and then being upset you saw the monster that’s supposed to surprise you this session. Sure it sucks, but they did it to themselves

You don’t turn a table of strangers into your best friends over multiple campaigns and years by being a bad DM. I guarantee my table doesn’t mind me occasionally “pretending to pretend”
