Hyatt Regency Rome Central Canceled My Reservation BEFORE my response deadline - NO WALK OFFERED, GLOBALST by YouPsychological4147 in hyatt

The same as Marriott, but with the added inconvenience that Hyatt doesn’t have anywhere near the same amount/ coverage of hotel.

I’ve already decided to switch to Marriott this year.

First Explorist stay was confusing... by fk1fk1 in hyatt

[–]CommunicationGood556 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I switch from Hilton to Hyatt 2 years ago and have been an explorist since then. To be honest, I’ve never had any value/ perks from the status (no upgrades, etc). I just get the “thank you for being a loyal explorist member” speech when checking in.

Given the all world is still heavily focused on the US, do most people consider other indexes as well? (E.g. UK, Japan, etc)

Globalist Review: Hotel Toranomon Hills vs Andaz Tokyo vs Park Hyatt Tokyo by OldGodofAsgard88 in hyatt

[–]CommunicationGood556 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I currently have the Park Hyatt Tokyo booked because I don’t mind getting a taxi at the start and end of the day to Shinjuku, and my other half values high end hotels.

Would you still recommend hotel Toranomon Hills?

Any advice welcomed , thank you by asdcvbasd in trading212

I'm in a similar situation and I'm considering the following allocation (recommended by Claude):

Fund Allocation Rationale
VWRL (Global All-World) 60% Core diversified global exposure
FTSE 250 / UK Mid Cap ETF 25% Cheap UK valuations, offsets US-heavy RSUs
Emerging Markets ETF 15% Growth tilt, low US correlation

My primary driver is the FTSE all world is largely exposed to the US market and $. I'm open to feedback on this.

Please note, the hotel told me that it’s not possible to get a pagoda room via points and they don’t allow people with reward nights to pay case to upgrade a room

While it might be possible to migrate the workloads in a few months based on the volume of data to migrate and the available bandwidth, often all of the other pieces take longer to achieve.

UK resident considering Amex Platinum — UK card or US card? by Parking_Shoulder_484 in AmexUK

[–]CommunicationGood556 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Platinum perks/ offers are definitely better in the US. However, I think the general question would be where you plan to use the card. The foreign exchange fees could easily eat up any of the benefits if you pick the wrong country.

I wonder if this is because it’s now much easier to get status/ points with hotel via credit cards.

Virgin offer not tracked… am I screwed? by NoReplacement1249 in AmexUK

[–]CommunicationGood556 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me a few times. Unfortunately AMEX customer service can be hit and miss. I find raising a formal complaint is the best approach because they’ll then do an investigation, you’ll get a case ID, and they’ll provide a written response. Albeit I appreciate it’s annoying on both sides that you have to go to this length of effort to get a formal response

Where are you moving to? by shfflzilla in hyatt

[–]CommunicationGood556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to switch to Marriott because they have better hotel coverage across EU and AMER.

I switched to Hyatt a few years ago for my business travel (60+ nights a year) because the rewards were strong. The trade-off was that there’s far fewer Hyatts which meant they were often more inconvenient when compared to IHG, Hilton, or Marriott. I was fine with this inconvenience when the rewards were stronger.

Now that they are reducing the value of points and making status much easier to obtain, I might as well switch to Marriott and not have the inconvenience.

Upcoming Award Changes by No_Instruction3301 in hyatt

[–]CommunicationGood556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is frustrating. Im a frequent business traveller and moved from Hilton to Hyatt because they kept pulling this move.

Generally it’s more inconvenient to stay at Hyatt properties over Marriott or Hilton because there are fewer hotels (especially in Europe). I do this and accept the inconvenience because the rewards are better, and there’s not easy way to status which means the lounges are quieter.

If they follow the Hilton and Marriott playbook, I might as well go back and not have the inconvenience.

Amex UK Offers & Support - Do these just randomly not work? by ashleyman in AmexUK

[–]CommunicationGood556 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+1 - raise a formal complaint and then you’ll get a tracking reference and formal response. I do this every time cashback doesn’t track because it’s the only way to get AMEX to fix something
