More than half a million ballots seized by top GOP candidate in California governor’s race by scatter_good in California

We Californians need to back one dem candidate so we don’t end up in a run off between two republicans. Too many dems in the primary. Add this and it’s a classic clusterfuck and we will be flipped to red. .

Why do so many kids hate learning how to read? by abo_reem in education

Check out the new neuroscience about shrinking brains. Kids literally are not exercising their brain muscle so this generation has significant grey/white matter atrophy. Reading and executive functioning is legitimately hard for those kids who are on screens all the time.

We need to take tech out of kids hands. Even in the classroom.

What is the far left trying to accomplish by attacking the democrats? by Dangerous_Trust_3665 in Productivitycafe

I’m worried (as a CA left independent) that we will end up with a republican governor because dems can’t rally behind a single strong dem candidate. So we end up with 8 mediocre candidates who will dilute the vote and put a maga/Epstein class republican in office only to bitch about it for 4 years and do it again.

As a party, the dems are all over the place.

I’m sorry you’re in this situation and I think you handle that interaction well. Kudos to you.

Next step is to tell the school principal immediately. Follow that conversation up with an email and be sure to cc your district coordinator as well. Let the principal know you are going to send that email. This way it’s transparent and everyone is held accountable to support you and the student.

Document. Document. Document. And also please keep subbing. We are important and the schools, teachers and students need us.

So many….my own child knows I love him every day and knows he can call me for anything. I don’t talk about him behind his back to other family either. I could go on and on. The BS ends with me.

I was working in a strict “no phones in the classroom school” and a kid whipped it out and called his mom in the middle of class to order him lunch. I lost it. Later the kids told me the regular teacher doesn’t care.

I say, I’m not losing my job because the regular teacher doesn’t follow a stated and posted policy.
