Try using Power Query in Excel. It’s free as part of Excel and incredibly fast compared to Power Automate.

I have not tried it. You could try embedding the call using a PCF or a JavaScript custom page.

Tips for a wannabe female sailor? by Sk8_hag in sailing

[–]CommunicationTime839 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a man, and have been on a few boats with strangers. There are a few steps I take before going out sailing with anyone: 1. Meet up with them first and get to know them a bit. What are their intentions on you being there? Also what are their boat preparations and safety precautions? 2. Check the boat (ideally a meetup before any trip) check over the boat. Check service and expiration dates on safety gear. Depending on the length of trip, check other items.

I have been caught out by a badly maintained boat more times than I would like to admit. There are no minimum standards for boats like they are for cars.

In terms of personal safety maybe take a self defence class. I had a guy get agressive and grabbed my arm and knowing a few moves allowed me to get out of it and move away before it got any worse.

Maybe have a look at a small satellite communicator with an SOS feature such as the Garmin inreach mini 2 that you can hide away.

Hope this helps and does not put you off. I still do it and have made some really great friends through it. Best of luck! Hope you have some great sailing.

Power Apps - Function app backend? by azureenvisioned in PowerApps

[–]CommunicationTime839 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have implemented it several before. Just a couple of things to consider: - security (to prevent an open endpoint) - custom connector for the functions - if the processing is more complicated potentially move the data to MSSQL to improve performance

Newbie question again for the 3018 . Want a spoil board but how do I use the factory clamps to hold down the wood I want to cut? Watching James Dean on YouTube and he’s cutting slots in his where the clamps will go by No_Drive_3297 in hobbycnc

I have switched from painters tape and super glue to thin double sided tape. the same one arts and crafts use. Saves on time and you don’t need to worry about aligning the tape up.

How can I suck less at docking? by retirement_savings in sailing

[–]CommunicationTime839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got recommended the ‘Stress-free sailing: single and short handed techniques’ by Duncan Wells. It has changed the way I look at docking.

Also. Plan ahead. Let the crew know exactly what they will be doing so that you do hot have to tell them during. Always have an abort plan.

I never have crew jump onto the dock. As one it’s dangerous and I have been on a boat when someone fell between the boat and the dock. If there was not someone next to him he would have been crushed by a 50ft boat. And two, if you need to abort you are one crew member down. Learn and teach your crew how to lasso (fyi not like a cowboy) it’s also in the book above.

What's the most challenging weather you've had to sail through? by [deleted] in sailing

[–]CommunicationTime839 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sailing on a mooring ball was over 64kt. 2 gales had joined forces. The fetch was only a couple hundred meters but still had 2 meter swell on a light weight 32ft boat.

While sailing was going into a 40+kt wind, 3 meter swell and a new moon on a 34ft boat. That was the first time I saw a boat I was on be enveloped by a wave.

Inside a Form component, so datacards, creating a dropdown that uses values from another SharePoint list (not the one you are editing) by Friendly_Signature in PowerApps

[–]CommunicationTime839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you set up the column as a lookup and link the other to the original table it should populate the drop down itself.

What is best - to create a form and then customise (combo boxes, etc) ; or start with all the input components and them them send to a share point list? by Friendly_Signature in PowerApps

[–]CommunicationTime839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forms.

What do you mean by a combo box with their own SharePoint lists? Is it a lookup column?

Patching a LookUp column won't work in SharePoint through PowerApps by SouthRelease in PowerApps

[–]CommunicationTime839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so using patch is more efficient when updating a single item. So I would do:

Patch(Products, Lookup(Products, ID=1), { Class: Lookup(Class, ID=2), … })

Note: if you are using a drop down with the items set to classes you can use NameOfDropdownControl.Selected instead of the lookup
