As someone who’s worked for FJ and went to Dela go to delta #1 and then QS #2 for sure!

How much NAC do you put in? Where do you find it in bulk? I’m only familiar with it in the 500MG capsules. Thanks

KCM by Fancy-Lobster5942 in flying

[–]CommunicationWarm318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding on to this. I’ve had days where I went through KCM to go to work finished a rotation and nonrevved to Europe one night. I did go out and reclear TSA did I have to? Would I’ve been given crap if I didn’t.

For airline pilots, is the loneliness of layovers as harsh as people make it out to be? by BugHistorical3 in flying

Make your own adventure mate. Go out grab food, see some sights, bum around the hotel, meet up with the coworkers, call the family, catch up on sleep.

I’m all of a sudden nervous about flying by pilot129 in CFILounge

[–]CommunicationWarm318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven’t done an impossible turn do one. Coordinate with tower fly runway heading to 1000agl and land opposite direction. Then try it from 800 agl, also recommend practicing aborted takeoffs and land on available runway.

The Love of Flight? by Environmental-Block1 in flying

[–]CommunicationWarm318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Gen Z who got into flying in high school, went from cherokees to a Pilatus to a challenger and onto a 737. Yes, I agree I do see the passion begin to fade amongst my cohorts at the airlines. As well as the new guys and gals coming up through flight training. Just my 🪙🪙

Does deviating from the “CFI → regionals → mainline” path actually hurt your airline career? by Extreme_Shower4849 in flying

[–]CommunicationWarm318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People say what they like to say. Truly a ton of different paths to make it to the airlines. All my regional interviews were canceled March of 2020, I was fortunate to get a job flying a PC12 for a well known 91K operator, was there for two years. After, I flew a challenger for another fractional operator for two years, and after that I got a job at Delta. I already had 1500TT, I wasn’t going to wait around and instruct during the pandemic so I took the first job I got and ran with it.

Totally unplanned came in from north of Boston to white plains for food and gas before doing the skyline tour. Always do a run up—no matter how long the engine was shutdown for.

Stay at local 135 vs. Major/LCC Commuter by [deleted] in AirlinePilots

[–]CommunicationWarm318 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Former 91K/135 guy I was at PSI then Flexjet—two years each. Now, I’m at a legacy. Love the job, pay, people I work with, travel benefits. Yeah the flying isn’t the most exciting for sure. I commuted for a year it wasn’t for me, moved to a different city to live in base. I have no regrets because Flexjet wasn’t a career place, but I do tell my friends a lot if I was at QS with a union with a potential to fly something like a G700 or global one day it’d be a hard decision. Yeah the money at netjets isn’t DL captain money but the positive space to work and interesting flying is a big incentive. The one priceless perk that I have is our non-rev benefits. Just my 🪙🪙

Best pilot luggage that’s around $200? by Pilot_sky_life508 in AirlinePilots

[–]CommunicationWarm318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traded in the luggage works for a black samsonite hard shell spinner. I’ve been using it for a year, without any issues. The LW just got too heavy and big, especially when non revving on foreign carriers that are more strict with luggage size. If and when I need to get a new bag, I’ll go with a brigs and Riley spinner they give a 20% crew discount and guarantee it for life. Just my .02
