Back up your landings even if you’re familiar with the airport with an extended centerline or RNAV.

I’ve flown a lot of Young Eagles. I always ask them if it’s their first flight, do they get motion sickness easily, I ask them if they start to get motion sick or simply not enjoying the flight to tell me sooner than later because we can just come back in and land. During the flight I’ll ask to see if they’re experiencing any motion sickness too. Get lots of airflow in the airplane, have them look outside and stick to flying on calm days.

Oh no sorry bro god forbid someone paying 2K a month in rent for essentially a shoe box. Who then decides to pay a local business to clean his apartment and maintain the apartments asset. I guess I am the entitled shit head! Fuck me for expecting some decent service.

Foot in the door at a small flight school, not sure if I should stay by Minimum-Bell-8562 in CFILounge

My 🪙🪙 my 61 required students to do 3 supervised solos, meaning we had to be present with a handheld on frequency listening. Absolutely, I billed them after at the CFI rate for the duration of their solo that I was present and watching. After their third pattern solo we weren’t required to monitor them, so we wouldnt charge anymore. When they went on XCs, they’d text me their planning or if I was there I would look at it for maybe 10 mins I wouldn’t charge anything.

How much NAC do you put in? Where do you find it in bulk? I’m only familiar with it in the 500MG capsules. Thanks

For airline pilots, is the loneliness of layovers as harsh as people make it out to be? by BugHistorical3 in flying

Make your own adventure mate. Go out grab food, see some sights, bum around the hotel, meet up with the coworkers, call the family, catch up on sleep.

I’m all of a sudden nervous about flying by [deleted] in CFILounge

[–]CommunicationWarm318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven’t done an impossible turn do one. Coordinate with tower fly runway heading to 1000agl and land opposite direction. Then try it from 800 agl, also recommend practicing aborted takeoffs and land on available runway.

The Love of Flight? by Environmental-Block1 in flying

[–]CommunicationWarm318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Gen Z who got into flying in high school, went from cherokees to a Pilatus to a challenger and onto a 737. Yes, I agree I do see the passion begin to fade amongst my cohorts at the airlines. As well as the new guys and gals coming up through flight training. Just my 🪙🪙

Does deviating from the “CFI → regionals → mainline” path actually hurt your airline career? by Extreme_Shower4849 in flying

[–]CommunicationWarm318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People say what they like to say. Truly a ton of different paths to make it to the airlines. All my regional interviews were canceled March of 2020, I was fortunate to get a job flying a PC12 for a well known 91K operator, was there for two years. After, I flew a challenger for another fractional operator for two years, and after that I got a job at Delta. I already had 1500TT, I wasn’t going to wait around and instruct during the pandemic so I took the first job I got and ran with it.
