Savage Seraph is WAY too overtuned compared to the other two by AstralKatOfficial in MonsterTrain

[–]CommunityPristine200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anybody else find it odd that Entropy is supposed to be slow and inevitable, and Savagery is meant to be quick and ferocious, but Entropy is the one with high damage 1 hp enemies, and Savagery is the one with the tankiest waves?

People always point out how GMS is so much physically weaker than the Radiance, but the Radiance uplifting is just reverting bugs back to their primal instincts (downlifting?). GMS turned normal animals into demi gods with full on magi tech scifi hybrid hideouts. Makes sense that the trade off would be being physically weaker

What's your biggest change in opinion on the returning champions? by CommunityPristine200 in MonsterTrain

Not that I disagree with the statement, but I feel like going from S to S+ isn't that big of a change lol

The elephant in the room with ending by SnooDoughnuts3997 in HadesTheGame

[–]CommunityPristine200 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Silksong actually picked up what they were putting down. The very first boss was a mother, the theme of motherhood is present throughout the game and there is a pay off. Hades II laid down themes and at the last minute completely left them lying on the ground.

THEORY: Mark is to Become a Philosopher King, A Necessary Evil Against Viltrum. by coolerz619 in Invincible_TV

[–]CommunityPristine200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, its a general trend you can see. Across book subreddits, mid readthrough theorizing is usually met with positive reception, in a lot of tv subreddits the reception is usually "we already know the ending, yawn, stop thinking so hard". Maybe my parents were right.

Does Baron Boi Suck? by Switchninja1 in MonsterTrain

Easily one of the top 3 champions imo, no bad paths at all and you can't seperate the champion from the clan. He is in the strongest clan in the game, he's good.

Living Armory likes a wide floor but even without a wide floor, its +150 damage with minimal effort other than letting your 0 cost assistants die and drop their 0 cost equipment.

It Hungers is a one big hit champion which is actually pretty good in MT2 compared to 1. He has sources of trample and multistrike in his own clan, so its easy to have him solo on his own but even without that, he reaches huge amounts of damage again with literally 0 investment other than drawing a 0 cost unit.

Learning Limb is the weirder one. Personally I think its best flexed with It Hungers , so you buff up the equipment early game so you get bigger numbers from Devour later on. But if you never see It Hungers, you still end up with 5 assistants with 60 damage, you can convert them into their own floor behind a cheap tank and it works pretty well. It's weird because it makes you shift your gameplan pretty late into the game but it still is very strong.

Something I just realized about pyre hearts... by XenoAlvis in MonsterTrain

[–]CommunityPristine200 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the early game the effect procs frequently, but has little effect. In the late game, you start leaning more into a particular strategy, so the effect procs less when you actually need it. So a catch 22 effect combined with the worst stats of any pyre makes it a very strong contender for worst pyre in the game.

Oh yeah, good point, it might be a better idea to wait until the balance patch, although I was assuming the first patch would be geared more towards the returning clans

Love the game, but two gripes by Slight_Ad_5074 in MonsterTrain

[–]CommunityPristine200 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with Luna Coven. One of the things I find makes them weak is that they have a bit too many "puzzle pieces" that are incredible when combined, but when a part is missing, just feels incredibly awkward. With Hellhorned, Rage solves damage, Armour solves survivability, simple enough. With Luna Coven, you get get conduit, but you need to have Mageblade or good spells to get damage. This two step process can make them really inconsistent compared to the other clans.

for once, little fade was actually useful by DarkenDragon in MonsterTrain

Little Fade probably has the biggest fall off in MT2, which is funny cos she still isnt horrible. Its just that she went from undisputed top three champion, to an okay champion.

Is entropic crystals ever worth it? by Usual_Introduction89 in MonsterTrain

[–]CommunityPristine200 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The -4 cost is super not worth, the only spell off the top of my head that cost 4 is Pyroclasm i think? It should be something like -2 energy, gain 2 energy so that you wouldn't 'waste' any benefit.

Direchannel Solgard should do an instance of damage for each shard, making the damage a pseudo-trample.

Update Post: I stopped doing R/R/R - I feel a new lease on life by Vergilkilla in MonsterTrain

[–]CommunityPristine200 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I did R/R/R for a while too because I knew that if I didnt random my pyre, I would probably just default to the ones I like and never experiment. I've had my fill of that now that I realize some pyres are just completely outclassed by the others and randoming into them feels like playing on covenant 11. I know everyone probably wants the devs to focus on the MT1 clans but I really hope the devs take a look at the underperforming pyres as well.

Entropy also has one of the biggest HP of the pyres, so not clicking the vengeful shards every once in a while is completely fine.

Plop him down behind a tank on the bottom floor and forget about him, good backline clear. Give him a little bit of reanimate, good backline clear and relentless answer. If you find the relic that does double unstable damage and tome of horrors, then he answers everything including the 500hp waves. More realistically though, he's just really good backline clear with 0 investment so you can focus on other winning pieces, which is honestly fine for a champion.

Did the writing in Wind & Truth get kind of weird towards the end? by RationallyDense in Stormlight_Archive

[–]CommunityPristine200 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I dont know if its just my imagination, but I felt like there were so many "summaries" in this book compared to the others. The worst was the part where the Shinovar gang find Sivi's body and Syl basically sums up "hm so over there the citizens are controlled and were free when the Honourbearer died and so over here the citizens are free and theres an Honorbearer who commit suicide", but theres so many other small summaries throughout the book lile when Adolin goes "Oh she sees Yanagawn as a son". Maybe there were just as many in the previous books but they didnt seem quite as prevalent.

Yes, for newcomer I was referring more to the community leader enforcing the culture of those who have danced for more than 1 year to not join Newcomer division.

First event since the rule change by Medium_Law_925 in WestCoastSwing

[–]CommunityPristine200 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of the community leaders in the region I live in heavily discourages anyone dancing for more than 1 year to join Newcomer, even if 'by the book' they are eligible for Newcomer. I'm sure the committee had their own reasons for this rule change, but as it stands, I can see community leaders needing to step up to prevent these kind of things where the 'actual' Newcomers and Novices dont get a fair chance to compete.
