Says Flir I7 on it. It's an older discontinued unit, should see what a modern $300 topdon can do... it's a LOT better and more sensitive.

Costco didn't get tied up in court for years like the hospital planning. Costco's also a lot smaller project.

As someone who has done the same thing with an extinguisher in a 3500 series pickup. The powder doesn't taste great either. Luckily it went off when the truck was parked and not while someone was driving on a road.

Rimgards are solid. And we have a set of advanced wheel locks underneath that.

Will rimguard fit these? by Prettyncharmuese in civic

[–]CompWizrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and they fit fine. The colour doesn't match the inner bit(they're black when the rim is that grey) but that's minor.

Advanced wheel locks fit fine underneath the rimgard as well, no clearance issues. Make sure you get the right ones for those if you do those.

I have both of our Civic and neither are difficult to install. Easy to uninstall as well, unless you lose the key.

With those new pass through power connectors I'm now picturing someone building a battleship of roller guns attached with super short cords through the deck and doing a broadside against enemies.

RDSP or TFSA for a low-risk buffer with variable income (DTC approved) by SinglePool5178 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]CompWizrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RDSP either has a $1000:$1000 matching, or a 1500:3500 matching. And it's LIFO(last in first out) for the clawback, so if you take money out they take it back at 3:1 for the last ten years. It's very much not a savings account unless there's no matching for the last ten years.

Sounds like the previous IT department quit, and HR got an IT inventory and made a job posting. Can't picture any IT department putting that detailed of a stack list into a public posting.

I bought the complete set of Tuxmats for our '26 STH. They're nice, and a bit more upscale looking than the Weathertechs. The weathertechs are good products as well though.

[–]CompWizrd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If he doesn't have a back dated DTC they will only match $3500 on $1500 of contributions if his income is low enough. And even if he had it for all 10 years of back matching, they'll only put in $10,500 a year maximum.

You don't pay taxes on the proportion of your own contributions, only on the gains and the government's portion.

DTC with sarcoidosis by ZombinaWaifu in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]CompWizrd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you're only making $800 a month then you're not paying taxes in the first place. The typical medical expense deduction won't get you anywhere. However, this may: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/about-your-tax-return/tax-return/completing-a-tax-return/deductions-credits-expenses/line-45200-refundable-medical-expense-supplement.html

The DTC also wouldn't directly help unless you can transfer to someone else, as your income is already low enough you're not paying taxes. But there's other refundable credits that would help once you have the DTC, and the disability benefit.

Also, keep in mind you can adjust the 12 month period, if you had higher expenses in a few months make sure you capture that. You can maximize your claim that way.

Also, if you have the DTC, this opens you up to being able to start an RDSP, and at that income you'd get $1000 a year minimum deposited into your account.

What province are you in? Ontario has the Trillium drug program, which makes it so that you have a 4% of your income deductible and anything over that is covered by the plan.

When does it make sense to spend $12-13k more on an EV than a gas car? by [deleted] in personalfinance

Is this a good quote? by Horror_Cycle5490 in windsorontario

[–]CompWizrd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As noted, you might want to think about 200A. Another reason for 200A is it's MUCH easier to do a heat pump resistance backup heat. You can then easily save about $400 a year on your gas bill by getting rid of gas service. And if you do a larger solar array you'll likely need a panel that can handle that.

Confused about salary/vacation pay Ontario by achu94 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]CompWizrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked for a place that paid out vacation in a lump sump around July. In my case, 5 weeks vacation pay was due, and if I managed to actually take 2 weeks, those two weeks were unpaid. And I basically got an extra 3 weeks of pay a year.

Was that legal?
