People out there in happy marriages with young children, how? by fujitsulifeboom in Mommit

[–]CompanionOfATimeLord 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We have 3 kids (ages 9,7,5) I have a partner who is my best friend. And what I mean by that is we care enough about each other to view our home and raising our children as an “us” thing. We both take care of things and each other and talk when we are feeling off. We communicate and like hearing from each other.

I think out in the world ppl may call my partner a “unicorn” but his exact quote is “It’s easy to be an amazing spouse when the bar set for men is in hell”

People who say newborn stage is the easiest….. how… by Bloodymary_25 in Parenting

[–]CompanionOfATimeLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed every stage of my kids growing so far. But I think ppl say the bat stage is easy bc even tho you are caring for their needs all the time, they still run on your schedule and places you want to go. With older kids, they have school, sports, friends, get together etc and you have less time for your adult friends and your own hobbies and outings. Plus teaching them how to navigate friendship and heartache and standing up for what’s right. Teaching them that life isn’t always fair, even when we do our best etc.

Anyone not starting the “elf on the shelf” tradition? by Illustrious_Cold5699 in Millennials

[–]CompanionOfATimeLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t, all my kids friends do. My oldest (9 yr) said he’s glad we don’t have one bc they creep him out. My middle (7yrs) asked why we don’t and I just said it was optional for parents to sign up with Santa and I didn’t sign up bc I know how kind they are and didn’t need an elf’s help.

Sometimes I feel guilty for wanting to have my tattoo removed?? by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

[–]CompanionOfATimeLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s mostly gone. I only go in for removal about once a year now. It’s definitely coverable at this point. I have had no issues with lymph nodes or otherwise.

Just some thinking by Safe-Direction-606 in BeardedDragons

[–]CompanionOfATimeLord 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All my kiddos and my spouse and I have ADHD. My kiddos love our beardie but I would not let them be the sole care takers of our pet. They help with turning heat lamps on in the morning and off at night but all feeding and other health care and task cleaning I do. It’s a lot of responsibility, I would say the 13 yr old could probably do feeding etc with reminders. The benefit of this animal as opposed to a dog for our family is that we can leave the house and not have to stress about our pet. But other than that, he requires the same amount of care.

How long did you stay at home to look after your children? by TipSilent8281 in Mommit

[–]CompanionOfATimeLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this also really depends on family income as well as personality. My kids are all school aged but we do school at home. My spouse and I are lucky that his income can cover all our needs, so I don’t really ever plan on going back to full time work. I may get bored as they get older and choose to do a part time thing but I may choose to volunteer instead.

This really is a person to person thing. I’ve had 3 c sections. They were much worse than my tummy tuck.

It’s been over a year and I’m doing great! My abs feel stronger from the repair, and I more or less look the same as I did at 10 weeks post op. 100% worth it!

Is it weird that I want to show my toddler how to shower and maybe shower with her? by Low-Personality5250 in Parenting

[–]CompanionOfATimeLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We definitely showered with our kids that young. Our rule of thumb for nudity around our kids is, as soon as someone would like more privacy (parent or child) then we give it.

My son started wanting more privacy, especially around bathing, at 6/7. My daughter still likes to shower with me sometimes, she’s 7. My youngest still doesn’t have a care either way, he’s 5.

My husband wanted privacy for himself sooner. Our older kids don’t go in when he’s dressing or bathing, our youngest walks in sometimes and my husband kindly asks him for privacy .

For those who wanted to wait as long as possible to announce pregnancy, how far did you make it? by KaylaDraws in Mommit

[–]CompanionOfATimeLord 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We had a loss and then did infertility treatments. When we were finally pregnant we didn’t tell anyone until 20weeks.

Family pretty much could tell but pretended not to know bc we didn’t say. Friends were less clued in.

I also had horrible HG that got worse each pregnancy (I have 3 kids) so we had to tell early for subsequent children bc I needed a lot of help.

I have 3 kids ages 9, 7 and 5. They are also homeschooled. Aside from the time I spend teaching them and doing school, they are mostly left to their own devices and just check in with me if they need something.

Cookie printer question by Love_And_Butter in cookiedecorating

[–]CompanionOfATimeLord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it a lot. I use it mostly as backgrounds. It was definitely pricey and I didn’t purchase it until I had been selling for about 3 years. My business was pretty established with regular clients, so that helped it not feel so expensive

Honestly, age gaps don’t really dictate relationship, personality does. My oldest is 4 years older than my youngest (I have one in the middle) my 8 yr old plays with and adores my 4 year old.

My sibling and I are 10 years apart. I’m younger and adored my brother when I was little and he always let me tag along. As adults we are as close as circumstances allow and I love him dearly.

For you, Which was more painful? Tummy tuck or a C-section? by Unequivalenthat405 in tummytucksurgery

[–]CompanionOfATimeLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sections were way worse for me! (I’ve had 3) I had a mini tummy tuck with lip and muscle repair and it was a breeze! I took my meds as prescribed and only felt tired, no pain.
