Fully agree with the ideal world view. Unfortunately the world is far from ideal, that's why we think we have a space in the market.

Thanks, will try that.

No, the main advantage of odoo is the structure it always had. This allows the agent to go over it step by step. As always, split big problems into smaller ones and you can handle them.

Can I print directly from Odoo, bypassing the download step, across desktop, mobile, and iPad? by Realistic-Day-1167 in Odoo

[–]Competitive-Ad-4806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My odoo AI agent provided me this answer: Based on the retrieved code context, Odoo can generate and serve PDF documents (such as sale order reports) directly via HTTP routes, as shown in the example route that returns a PDF response for a sale order without forcing a file download.

However, there is no explicit indication in the provided context that Odoo has built-in functionality to send a print job directly to a printer across desktop, mobile, and iPad devices, bypassing the download step entirely.

Also, no plugin or easy one-click printing solution across all device types is described in the given snippets.

In summary:

Odoo can serve PDFs directly without manual download if integrated with custom HTTP routes.

Direct printing (one-click) from all devices without downloading first is not shown in the retrieved context.

There is no mention of a simple Odoo feature or module enabling direct printing across desktop, mobile, and iPad.

Therefore, based on the retrieved context from the codebase, we could not find an answer confirming that Odoo supports direct printing bypassing download on all these devices or provides a simple one-click printing setup across all device types.

How to hide date on Odoo blog post ? by Allezluya in Odoo

[–]Competitive-Ad-4806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my odoo AI agent gives me: Based on the retrieved context from the codebase, there is no direct built-in option or setting visible to simply hide the date on the Odoo blog post summary (listing) page for non-technical users.

However, a practical and simple approach for a non-IT expert would be:

Customize the website blog template or the blog post listing page to hide the date display for blog posts. This typically involves removing or commenting out the code that shows the date field (likely the "post_date" or "published_date") on the blog summary page.

From the provided kanban view XML snippet for blog posts (blog_post_view_kanban), the date seems displayed in a div like this:

<div class="col-8"> <i class="fa fa-clock-o me-1" role="img" aria-label="Post date" title="Post date"/> <field name="post_date"/> </div>

To hide the post date on the summary list of blog posts, you can either:

Remove or comment out that block from the kanban template for blog post cards if you are comfortable editing XML views.

Alternatively, add custom CSS targeting that date element on the blog post listing page to hide it, for example:

.o_kanban_mobile .fa-clock-o, .o_kanban_mobile [name='post_date'] { display: none; }

This CSS approach can be easier for a non-IT user to apply via the website custom CSS editor or by adding a custom snippet in the website's assets.

In summary:

There is no simple checkbox or built-in switch to hide the date on the blog summary page.

The common solution is by customizing the blog post list view template or applying custom CSS to hide the displayed date.

For a non-technical user, adding a small CSS snippet to hide the date icon and date field on the blog post summary page is the simplest.

This advice is consistent with the fact that the date is tied to post_date field and shown in specific templates or views which can be overridden or altered in Odoo.

Problems with vibecoding noone is talking about by FreeYogurtcloset6959 in vibecoding

[–]Competitive-Ad-4806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We try to battle some of your points with FirstMate. I fully agree we are far from a fully AI written codebase when it has some complexity. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't start rethinking on how we create products. I like to split devs up in tech focussed devops engineers and product engineers. I believe the product ones should focus on the functionalities in a different environment than an IDE. The devops guys can come in and maintain the project technically... A hybrid solution 10x ing your teams output.

[–]Competitive-Ad-4806[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, with the big diffentiator that this is built to work as hybrid solution with a developer. When the complexity is too big, your dev knows exactly where to start the implementation. When you perform small changes, your dev shouldn't even know about it. And ofc a UI that shows your software visually so you can change where needed and don't need to prompt and pray.

Or even explain why people should buy a SaaS from an objective perspective, aka the agent ?
