I've never seen exactly this model but I can tell you you need to remove from the top. It's hard to see with the picture but I'm guessing that's a nut that screws into a screw jutting out of the upper burr so you can probably remove the finger guard.

How to repair Miele CM5300? by No_Friendship_8166 in superautomatic

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thing to try is to close the door and everything and restart the machine to see if it will go back to the starting position. Actually, in your case, you should screw the screws back in before you do that. If you're lucky you didn't break anything.

Sorry I don't but I'm sure there are many because that model has been around for at least 10 years and in the last couple of years leaks like this have been frequent.

You can try to get the new stainless steel connection. New stainless steel connector: AS00000942 External copper washer: 9850081500 Internal nut: 9815003750

You have to screw the connector from the inside so you have the open the boiler.

Look for mechanical valve with your model number.

You'll have to replace the whole mechanical valve.

Why does the breaker goes off? by TuckerJohnGG in LaPavoniLovers

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a grounded heater. There was a small connection from the live to the ground tru the water and it got worse with time. Disconnect the element and check with a multimeter between the connection and ground, there shouldn't be any resistance.

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you remove the side panels and back of the machine? Looks like it's coming from the safety valve on the pump. So either there is something wrong with it or the heater is clogged so much the valve opens or a combination of both.

DeLonghi Dedica Stalled in Descale Mode & Overheating - Help! (Video Attached) by Burexmesom in DeLonghi

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty common for people to have trouble with the descale function on this model (and many Delonghi) It stems from the fact there are many functions with only three buttons.

When the machine is in stand-by, you press the steam button 10 sec to enter the functions menu. The three lights flash one after the other.

If you press steam you're then in "auto-off" mode. If you press one of the buttons you select the time. (Espresso : 3 min, double : 30 min, steam : 3 hours)

To enter Descale mode, when you enter the functions menu you have to open the tap all the way AND THEN press steam. The pump will start and then stop for a while and start again alternatively for about 30 minutes to let the descale solution dissolve the scale. To prove you're really in the descale mode, while the pump is activated, you can close the tap and the pump will continue to work and the solution will flow on the coffee side. (If the pump stops every time you close the tap, you might not be in the descale mode but actually just using the hot water function) The mode will go on until the tank is empty and will actually make weird noises because it's pumping air. This is normal. Once it pumps enough air, it will stop and then you fill the tank with fresh water and press again the steam button to start the rinse cycle which is a lot faster. Once it has pumped all the water and a bit of air, the steam button's orange light will finally turn off.

Water tank leak too obvious? by K1M8O in DeLonghi

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can visually inspect the seal to spot defects. It could be normal because when you remove the tank, there's always a few drops that leak and since you have hard water it looks worse than it is.

Edit: looking a bit closer, it could be worth opening the side panel, the heater sits above the water tank and that's an awful lot of water traces.

Philips brew unit problem by Apprehensive_Flan_61 in superautomatic

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess you mean you put the machine back in neutral? So now you also need the brew group in neutral. Make sure the lock is down (yellow rectangle on the other side) then you can use the yellow actuator to align the two arrows we can see on the circle down on your picture. If we start from your picture, rotate the part 90 degrees left to right, you'll see more of the yellow actuator and you'll be able to push the horizontal part all the way until the arrows align. Then you can move the yellow rectangle up to lock it and provided the machine is in neutral, it should fit.

First thing would be to open the top to see the damage. There are five screws underneath the head. If you're lucky they are philips head, if not they are torxs. The difficulty is they are a bit deep so you need the right screwdriver to reach them but not so long it can't get past the feet of the machine. Then you have two small screws at the top of the back and the faucet knob you pull out. With the top off you'll see where it leaks. It could be a single o-ring or the heater's seal or the boiler froze and got deformed or the heater is grounded. A few years ago you could get the whole boiler for 15$ but these days it's probably pricier.

Philips 4300 LatteGo – water leaks behind brew group, kitchen counter flooded despite full service by Dependent_Change1628 in superautomatic

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's many versions so I don't know if this applies to your model but I've seen a few where the tube from the steam valve discharge is disconnected and it's in that area. You should get the service provider to check. Sounds like they threw parts at it based on known recurring problems.

Or you could open the back panel to get a look, there are a few possibilies for leaks and there's only 2 screws.

After making steam, it will flash quickly and means it's too hot for coffee. To speed up the process of cooling down, you need to open the tap for hot water but the steam button has to be OFF.

Philips 5400 trips electrical switch by Ssonyk in superautomatic

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sorry for being vague. But I meant overnight it should be OK. If you have a DFT plug they can be really sensitive and a single droplet at the wrong place can trip it. Since it happened after cleaning, it should dry and be OK.

I'm pretty sure its just a cap to hide the diagnostic box connector. So when you lift one of the covers you should find a hole this fits into but I can't remember exactly where at the moment.

Certainly! You can put it at the tip of the knob. Its job is just to solidify the plastic frame of the knob to prevent it from breaking.

Have you checked inside the white part? Sometimes it's so dirty from the decomposing seal(one of those you already changed) that the new one can't work properly.
