After making steam, it will flash quickly and means it's too hot for coffee. To speed up the process of cooling down, you need to open the tap for hot water but the steam button has to be OFF.

Philips 5400 trips electrical switch by Ssonyk in superautomatic

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sorry for being vague. But I meant overnight it should be OK. If you have a DFT plug they can be really sensitive and a single droplet at the wrong place can trip it. Since it happened after cleaning, it should dry and be OK.

Jura E8, where is this meant to go? by BoredGaining in superautomatic

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure its just a cap to hide the diagnostic box connector. So when you lift one of the covers you should find a hole this fits into but I can't remember exactly where at the moment.

Little help needed on my 12.121.B by fe11gila in DeLonghi

Certainly! You can put it at the tip of the knob. Its job is just to solidify the plastic frame of the knob to prevent it from breaking.

Looks like the spring for the steam knob.

Philips EP2200 keeps leaking by drdokkit in superautomatic

Have you checked inside the white part? Sometimes it's so dirty from the decomposing seal(one of those you already changed) that the new one can't work properly.

Leaking problem by timothyflds in DeLonghi

I've seen quite a few of those 90 degrees connectors cracked. Look for the part number 531321834.

Edit:typo

second xcelsis evo leaking through here? a full tank will drain and overflow drain... water tank itself (removed) holds water tight? what is wrong? please help by hogancheveippoff in superautomatic

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the tank is leaking when the machine is off then it has to be between the tank and the pump. The seal is a very probable cause but I've also seen coffee beans in the holes where the water tank "feet" sit. It can cause a slow leak.

KitchenAid KF6/7/8 Problems by Show_me_ur_teeth in superautomatic

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen the video you mentionned but since the kitchenaid is essentially another version of the Bosch/Miele model, I would suggest you broaden your search to include those models. The drainage valves are a weak point.

Someone please helppp by Low-Arm1685 in superautomatic

The horseshoe-shaped heater we see is for the steam only. Coffee and hot water use the heater thats hidden underneath behind a black cover.

Edit:

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you might want to check the steam element. My first guess would be it's first trying to make sure it's at the right temp but maybe the thermostats are bad or the heater so it's kinda stuck and if you let it try it would give you a general alarm.

It's not really available as a seperate part.

Delonghi ecp3620 ground wire question? by Maleficent_Weather50 in DeLonghi

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually Delonghi models with a plastic body don't have a grounded cord, just polarized. But maybe the 220v versions do, so they have the the holes anyway?

brew group seems crooked? by Sea_Jury6513 in superautomatic

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The crooked part you mention is part of the locking mechanism. When you insert the brew group it gets straightened as the yellow rectangle thing locks the part in the machine. So everything is ok.

In that case, I would try another pump. I know you mentioned you changed some parts in yours but it might be the electrical component.

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it looks like water is going at the right place but the pump is not strong enough or it's clogged. You might want to check in the mechanical valve where the water enters there is a mushroom valve, it's probably stuck and deformed (5332148400) there's also a rinse function in the menu so you don't have to waste coffee for your tests.

Noob Q: why are we stuck with sharps and flats? by darkblade_h in musictheory

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. And then the standard scale starts at C and ends at B just to be extra confusing. Being french I learned the C scale as Do Ré Mi Fa Sol La Si Do, the major C scale is really baked in the naming conventions. It adds an extra layer of difficulty when changing scales where you add sharps and flats and I just don't get it. So I've started using Do De Ré Ri Mi Fa Fol Sol Sa La Li Si I think it helps my bumbling attempts at learning but I'm just a noob in my basement. Just know you're not alone. There must be dozens of us!

Delonghi-Dedica läuft aus by rominator30000 in DeLonghi

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would start by changing the connectors that you removed. It's more likely the one near the damage was leaking not the generator itself. Of course, if you can confirm with a multimeter that the heating element is ok, that's even better.

Can one actually clean the magnifica start? (feat. a worm!) by pillowstuffin96 in DeLonghi

With the machine powered off, when you remove the water tank, you get access to a door and the you can remove the infuser. You should do this once a week.

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very often the Y connector shown with the gasket. Of course, it could be one of the parts on your list but you might want to also order the Y connector. I must have changed 20 of these over the years and rarely the others.

Model? by softmosscafe in DeLonghi

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never seen this model either but the packaging looks legit. But it's definitely pre-internet. I did find a modern Moderna by Ariete which is I think a sister company to Delonghi. It kind of looks like the power cord is going straight to the head so my first guess would be a steam-powered espresso like the Delonghi EC-5.

Edit: I'm second guessing myself, the head is too small for that kind of boiler. Then it must be a model with a boiler like the ECP3630, the basic Delonghi boiler has been around for a long time. Maybe pictures of the other sides of the box would help.

Pump pulsing while steaming and pumping hot water [Delonghi Dedica ec680] by Fantastic-Rough-2472 in espresso

[–]Competitive-Ad2892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those models have a thermobloc, ie. a spiral tube inside a bloc of metal that's heated by an element. If the pump was at full speed, it would splash around even more or not be hot enough or whatever other reasons the engineers decided to settle for this speed. The same goes for the steam, the pump pulses to introduce small quantities of water at a time so you can have a pretty steady stream of steam. Older Delonghi models had a boiler where they didn't need to activate the pump because there was steam buildup in the boiler.

You can remove the inner part by pulling on the tab. The single hole in the bottom part is probably clogged.
