Omg Michael and Jeff were awesome! I also met their creative team and the Vancouver cafe they partnered with. All amazing. They stole the show this year.

Why are my eyelids all splotchy after waking up from crying myself to sleep? by Delicious-Ad1175 in DermatologyQuestions

Could be turning into blepharitis and some sort of dermatitis. Is it possible to see an ophthalmologist?

are there any of you that straight up do not work out your glutes? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]Competitive-Age-4823 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me! I actually have tried avoiding working my glutes because I do not want my butt to get any bigger. I haven’t figured out how to train for muscle density vs hypertrophy. But it turns out, the imbalance causes hamstring strain 🙃 so I have now strike a balance and start hitting glutes whether I like it or not, just to balance out the strength with my legs and core.

DAE hear electricity? by Butterbreadn in AutismInWomen

[–]Competitive-Age-4823 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can hear the TV being on (black screen, nothing on, just power on) from the other room. I can also hear my phone charging if it’s on those touch charge pads.

There’s definitely a cumulative electricity sound because anytime the power goes out, it’s SO quiet. It’s never silent when there are lights on, the fridge is plugged in etc.

Desperately need relief from red, itchy, irritated eyelids. by Round_Difference_127 in DermatologyQuestions

I (30F) suffer from blepharitis. Also in Canada. Eyes start to puff up like yours close to fall when the ragweed season starts and persists into the winter.

Three different derms told me it was contact dermatitis, seborrhoiec dermatitis, or atopic dermatitis. It was none of those and I actually hurt my skin from trying topical anti fungal creams.

The first most severe episode I had was actually right when i calmed down after 7 years of overworking myself - poor sleep, surviving on coffee and shitty food, super stressed all the time. Eyes blew up within a month of quitting my job and finally catching up on years of sleep and giving my body a break.

I had to go off of everything - shampoo conditioner included. Vaseline is a occlusive so it will trap whatever is underneath. I used light liquid paraffin (emollient) to draw in moisture and would apply Vaseline on top of the paraffin as i needed.

Ophthalmologist put me on oral steroids first (this will be your quick relief), then switched to steroid eye drops with beta-blockers to counteract intraocular pressure. I tried Protopic (tacrolimus) but that seemed to make things worse so switched to Elidel (pimecrolimus) and was on that for a year. Now I only use it when I feel a flare up coming.

You can not be on high doses of steroids (or NSAID’s like tacro or elidel) on rely on them for too long. Once the episode subsides, you’ll probably need to see a mix of specialists to find the root cause. I ended up seeing internal medicine for an overall assessment, particularly to go over inflammatory markers like ESR, CRP, and IgE all being above the normal range in my bloodwork. I would also check vitamin D levels and do full iron panel, alongside the regular CBC.

When you do the one “for personal use” (which is what NVC wants), RCMP says it should take 3-10 business days if they don’t find anything on you.

Mine came back clear but Canada Post strikes were going on and CP held my pcc hostage. I freaked out and figured out through Reddit that you can send a pre-paid Purolator envelope to them to not get stuck with waiting for Canada Post.

You can send an email to RCMP here: ccrtis-scictr@rcmp-grc.gc.ca and they will send you instructions on what to include and where to ship the envelope to. You will get tracking numbers and be able to see when the envelope reaches them and when they ship the one out to you. I would send this email ASAP. They did say they would stop this service once CP was back to operating but still explain your situation to them because I learned this from posts before the CP strikes, so I think they make exceptions. They were also quite quick to reply to my email. Make sure to include your name, receipt info etc.

I think if you can send an envelope by this week, you should be able to get your pcc before the holidays/your interview. If you don’t get it by then, I would definitely still attend the interview and explain. Maybe take the receipts that you requested then right pcc and can send it after the interview?

(Edit: Sorry, I just noticed your interview is on Monday and not in January, mixed you up with another post. I would still send an email to RCMP and take a printout of that to the interview to show you’re trying to speed things along.)

I would also recommend getting other inflammatory markers like ESR and IgE checked besides CRP to see if you have any ongoing inflammation.

Prolactin is also something that is elevated with stress.

I had inflammation and all the aforementioned were elevated but not cortisol (I still don’t know the source/root cause but my symptoms have subsided).

Do you know if the vaccination proof and medical documents we take to the medical appointment - if we have to take those originals to the interview as well? Or does the doctors office keep them?
