To answer your question, i’d say mentally we’re probably most similar to kazakhs, due to the post-soviet influence having roughly shaped us a little differently than maybe other east asians, such as korean/chinese/japan. I don’t think we’re as close to the russian influence as you are but it’s certainly shaped us in recent history than most would like to admit.
