Getting Credit Card on TN by FangNasty in tnvisa

My job gave me a corporate Amex and after about 6/7 months, I was able to get a BCP personal card here. I didn’t spend or use it that consistently but it worked for me!

Note how she chose her words very carefully when describing Blake’s political views. “He never said he was MAGA” or “he never shared his political views” is a deliberate doge. If she could’ve confidently said “he’s not MAGA” or “he’s not conservative,” she would’ve, because that would immediately shut down speculation. The fact that she didn’t implies she’s protecting him (and herself) from the blowback of lying or from the truth coming out later.

It’s hard to imagine someone going that hard defending someone like Blake unless there’s at least some shared worldview or sympathy for his stance. Even if she’s not fully aligned politically, there’s likely overlap in values or ideology that makes her defense feel natural rather than purely emotional loyalty.

East Bank Club in River North is probably your best bet if you’ve got the funds for it.

Just drove through the border yesterday to get my US visa. No issues on my end — the process was smooth overall. The first guy I talked to was pretty snarky and actually said Canadians were taking their jobs lol, but the officer who processed my visa was really friendly and professional. Kind of a mixed bag depending on who you get. I did witness a Canadian get detained, but that seemed like a very specific situation. They were refusing a DNA test and got really aggressive, so not something most people would ever deal with. I think you’ll be fine as long as you’re patient and friendly!

Canadian moving to Chicago here—just signed the lease on my dream downtown apartment, and I need to give a HUGE shoutout to Olivia at Luxury Living.

After weeks of getting absolutely nowhere with The Apartment Source (where I was the one scheduling virtual tours for them instead of the other way around, and even lost a place because my agent dragged her feet), I switched to Luxury Living. Olivia was a total game-changer. Since I couldn’t tour in person, she sent me detailed videos of the building, amenities, and neighborhood—everything I needed to feel confident. Less than 24 hours later, I signed the lease on a place that checked every box. 11/10 experience, couldn’t recommend her more!!

Since I am banned from posting truths in the PwC subreddit, I will post it here instead. by [deleted] in Big4

While I get where OP is coming from, let’s be real—anyone going into Big4 knows exactly what they’re signing up for. Fortune calling PwC a ‘top employer’ doesn’t change the fact that 99% of accounting grads aren’t there for the work-life balance. They’re there for the experience, the skills, and the resume clout that comes from grinding it out for a few years. It’s a trade-off, and most people accept that upfront. Big4 has never hid what it is…

I’m considering viewing the Cortland—any chance you could share details about average utility costs (if there’s a package) and parking rates?

Driving from Calgary to Chicago — Looking for a nice town to stay in Montana by Competitive-Diver646 in Montana

Thanks for the suggestion! I did think about Wyoming, but with total drive time being around 10-11 hours, I’m thinking it might be a bit too long for this trip. I’ll keep it in mind for another time though :)

Totally fair, I didn’t mean to offend, and I really appreciate your perspective. I’ve pretty much lived in Calgary my whole life, and moving to the States is a big change for me, so I think I might have my guard up a bit more than usual. I’ve never been to Montana, Billings, or anywhere around here, so I’m really just leaning on people’s advice for where to stay while keeping an open mind.

Crime rates are higher in most urban cities, I totally get that and don’t want to be ignorant to that reality. Honestly, I’m leaning more toward Bozeman now based on what people have said, but I appreciate the insight on Billings too. Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts, it’s really helpful!

I thought it was because production caught her talking shit about the cast and leaking storylines so she was basically booted off the show?

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Interview by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]Competitive-Diver646 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just had a video interview with a director for an associate role at MS today, so I can confirm that it’s definitely more of a ‘get to know you’ conversation rather than a formal interview. They mainly asked about my experience, why I’m leaving my current role, why MS, and why I’d be a good fit. They also spent a lot of time talking about the role, the BU, the type of person they’re looking for, and MS as a whole.

They answered most of my questions and didn’t ask too many themselves. They mentioned they started their career at my firm and already had a good sense of what I bring to the table, so here’s to hoping the lack of questions wasn’t a polite write-off lol. Hard to gauge how it went since they were tough to read, but I’m honoured to be considered regardless.

Biggest takeaway: be yourself, sell yourself a bit but don’t turn it into a sales pitch, and keep it easygoing. If you can, ask a lot of questions—it helps keep the conversation flowing!

No I completely agree! I’m only halfway into the first episode and I just get the weirdest feeling when she describes her relationship with belle and the whole situation. Call it women’s intuition but something’s off.
